So, I was at the Jr High book fair...this is a fictional story but related to actual events and experiences by the author, who served in Afghanistan. I liked the immersion in a totally different culture, however, I want to go get those men and open a can. It is amazing to me how education is the key to freedom. Whether based upon race, religion, or creed those who want to destroy or hold others down will first take away their opportunities to learn and discover the world around them. Those who want to empower encourage education, knowledge, literature, and discovery. This is a simple book, but the message is clear.

Found it difficult to start off, maybe just didn't know what I was getting into. I was actually able to put it down at first. Once I got into it, though, it sucked me right in like her other novels did. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book is great if you accept it for what it is - a memoir written by a sitting senator with continuing political aspirations. It shows an honest look at Hillary's eight years in the white house as a proactive, policy-driving first lady. I appreciated Hillary's honest descriptions of why she takes the political positions that she does (pro-choice, women's and family issues, etc.), although much of the book reads like a campaign statement. If you are looking for a tell-all confessional, this book will not satisfy you. The glimpses into her personal life that Hillary provides are touching and honest, however, especially her experience as a mother and as a wife who has trouble deciding to stay with a cheating husband.

An epic story of the future, seen thru the eyes of the past. If you grew up playing Dungeons & Dragons, Asteroids and Pac Man or watching Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail you will love this book. Mr Cline manages to offer a realistic prediction of the future, all the while totally allowing the reader to geek out to some of the most memorable 80's pop culture references imaginable. I just finished reading "Ready Player One" and i'm tempted to start over again right away :)

I am not sure why this book was in two parts. While a decent story all together, book one was not a stand alone story. Can't really put my finger on it; just finished book one and two and while I liked it okay - I also feel vaguely disappointed. Not sure I will continue with this series...
