How to be alone just kidding... His essays on Alzheimer's and maximum security prisons are definitely worth reading. Although he cites very few statistics, he thoroughly expounds on the abstract implications of alienation drawing heavily on references to classical and contemporary literature. Since some of the essays were written in 1995, the references to technology are outdated.

This book was interesting for me. Everything I read about the book talked about how it was hilarious and laugh-out-loud funny. For me, I didn't find it that funny. Entertaining in places yes, and I could see where the jokes were, I just didn't find them humorous. It also took me about 200 pages to start caring about the conclusion. I did like the story line. I found the idea of the book unique and, for the most part, entertaining but I almost wish it had been written by someone else. It is a pretty quick read for a tome of it's stature. -- it's been a few months now and I find myself thinking back on this book fondly. I think I enjoy thinking of the wacky story line and the unique plot style more than I did reading them! I'll bump it up to 3 1/2 stars for staying power! --I keep thinking about this book!! I ave now decided I really like the story and the characterization. I'm giving it 4 stars! ...check back for further enhancement!

The Cazalet Chronicles are a wonderful series! I'd forgotten about them, but reading them was a marvelous experience and I was sad when I reached the end of the fourth book. The comparison to Rosamonde Pilcher is perfect!

As usual, I love anything and everything Meg Cabot writes. The Mediator series is definately one of my favourite teen romance books. Paul is such a pain - why can't he leave her alone?? And why does Suze have to be attracted to him?? I so want Jesse and Suze to have a happily ever after!! On to the final book.
