Great reference book- it's a great resource to learn a little bit of information on a broad spectrum of topics. It's a good book to get some ideas from.

I really liked this book quite a bit. I wish I had found out what it was about before starting it rather than just grabbing it and reading, I think I would have been better prepared. Even so, I thought it was a great page turner, I couldn't put it down. The use of the Angel of Death as the narrator was an interesting idea, introduced some snippets of some of the heavier things going on in Germany at the time without being overwhelming. But still allowed the reader to focus on the girl and how she viewed the war. I thought it was very well written. I can't say it was enjoyable, but definitely one I would recommend.

I didn't like this one as well as her others, though the writing was still very vivid.

I am a big fan of Brian K. Vaughan's award winning Runaways and was excited to see that this edition was written by Joss Whedon. Maybe I was expecting too much from Joss Whedon, but I thought the story was a bit weak (hint it involves time travel) but still enjoyed it. The art by Michael Ryan was quite good...RUMOR RUMOR...a possible Runaways movie. http://tinyurl.com/6yfc47

A spirit led journey into entrepreneurship by which the Author explains in a play-by-play format using Football as a theme. The sixteen chapters and 200+ pages are just enough to make you want more. Teaming with a plethora of great easy to impliment suggestions he's already tried. When finished, it will be a great reference book too. The only thing I would recommend to this Author, Steve Henry, is perhaps pictorials to some of your explanations. For instance the Chapter "5" Feed Your Team. It would have been nice to see some of that great food. Thanks, FKR.

stories i totally enjoyed: 'october in the chair' has the months of the year taking turns telling stories around a campfire (some of my favourite lines are in there).. 'sunbird' pokes fun at a few exclusive, extreme epicureans.. 'other people' is a chilling portrayal of hell.. there's that story with the very long title he wrote before he made celebrity.. the poems are great fun reading aloud, especially 'the day the saucers came'.. i'd love to hear him read them.

Finally, a book that does not discuss the stinkin' food pyramid and poopoo fat! It describes foods in categories of green light, yellow light and red light foods. The whole Sears family was involved in this little resource and I give them a thumbs up....kids will understand the concept of green light "go" foods and they also discuss how it is good to eat lots of colors (colors of the rainbow). Although I think I enjoy the creative concepts presented in a few of the other books teaching children about food, it is definitely not worth confusing them with all the pyramid and fat misinformation, ultimately I am tempted to make this book part of our personal library.

Read the STOP SMILING interview with Thomas Frank: We're Not in Kansas Anymore By JC Gabel Whether Thomas Frank has enough time to think about it or not, he is a hero to underground publishers. He's also an author, a lecturer and, on most afternoons, an outspoken social critic. Fifteen years ago, Frank started The Baffler, a journal of cultural criticism, in his undergraduate dorm room at the University of Virginia. The Baffler's intelligent look at American culture immediately garnered a fervent readership around the country. In the late 80s, Frank moved the fledgling magazine to the cozy South Side Chicago neighborhood of Hyde Park, home to the University of Chicago where, in 1994, he received his Ph.D. in U.S. History. In 1997, after years of underground publishing, Frank and fellow Baffler cohort Matt Weiland edited and released Commodify Your Dissent: Salvos from the Baffler (W.W. Norton). Frank and Co. seized the day and gained access to a wider audience... Read the STOP SMILING interview...
