2.5 Sterne Mag am Hörbuch und meiner fehlenden Konzentration gelegen haben, aber so richtig konnte mich die Geschichte und ihre Figuren nicht packen :/ Die ganzen Verliebtheiten, die so ans Licht gekommen sind, kamen mir auch eher unbegründet vor. Ich habe mit niemandem so richtig mitgefiebert. Die 3 Hörbuch-Leser waren gut, aber meiner Meinung nach unnötig, weil alles aus einer personalen Erzählperspektive erzählt wird, die verschiedenen Stimmen haben mich da eher rausgebracht.

Classic Barbara Vine/Ruth Rendell. This one reminds us how tough it is to be a politician in any country. Intense scrutiny of private lives leads to all kinds of subterfuge. Of course, if politicians weren't so inclined to naughty behavior, it wouldn't be such an issue.

I liked this book, it was an easy read- maybe a little too easy. It was a good story, but not great. The characters were hard working indviduals who had good morals, but it almost seemed as if Elenora was a little too perfect. It also went into sooo much detail about catching moths that I got a little tired of it after a certain point and I just wanted to see how it was going to end already. I felt it was worth the read, I did learn things from the characters, and in particular I loved this line: "If you are Lazy and accept your lot, you may live in it. If you are willing to work you can write your name anywhere." That's a quote I could hang on my wall. And Elenora is all about that. She had a very strong character. But.. I did feel this novel lacked something... it's hard to pinpoint what it is... maybe it was too simple. I think I would've liked it more as a teenager.

i LOVED this. it tells the stories of some of the most famous and infamous biographers of sylvia plath. the author directly discusses the problems she faced with the hughes family and the insane variety of other "friends" and "experts." it doesn't appropriately bill itself because plath is not the subject of the book -- her biographers are. but it is fascinating.
