Bev was a total bitch and Colby was clueless. Now, if "You two are not meant to be" wore a ski mask, shoved Colby into its white van and took him to a desert and beat him on the head repeatedly with a blunt object, Colby still wouldn't know it was "YOU TWO ARE NOT MEANT TO BE YOU IDIOT". The End because that's all there is to this story because 1. Colby's "epiphany" didn't move me and 2. I couldn't care for any of the characters. Even that punk chick and her sister and that tattoo dude. God, how I hated Bev though.

One of my favorite historical fiction books so far. The writing is absolutely beautiful and the story pulled me in from beginning to end. I've been to Madame Tussaud's wax museum in London and really enjoyed learning more about this remarkable woman's life. I'm making a note to read other books by Moran (i.e. Cleopatra's Daughter, Nefertiti) for sure.

Un final fenomenal para este cuarteto. La pareja fue genial, me hicieron reír, suspirar, enojarme, llorar... Me da tristeza que se haya terminado todo, pero creo que fue un fina de lo mejor. Dulce, lleno de romance y pasión... sin duda, maravilloso!!! Espero que lleguen pronto a México para tener mis todos mis ejemplares en físico en el librero :-)

This is what my new local book group are reading. I wouldn't have heard of it otherwise. So far a good story but style wise not in the same league as Laarson.Some very poor sentences but I don't know whether it is a translation ( a poor one?) as set so far in Norway. Yes another Scandinavian detective story............... I persevered and quite enjoyed it as a quick read. Doesn't have any of the complicated multiple threads of Laarson's books, nor the strong characterisation but one you could take on the plane or to the beach.

Chetan Bhagat explores the issues of marriage in India. It is a clash of what I would think "New India" is and "Old India". Just like it says on the back, boy and girl meet, fall in love, now have to convince their parents of their love. I found this story interesting because it explores the idea of arranged marriage while demonstrating some of Indian wedding culture. The kids want to get married, but have to convince their parents they are right for each other, despite their cultural differences. There are a lot of cultural differences, even language, between them. One family being from north India, the other being from South India. 2 States explores the differences and the troubles the couple must go through to make their parents understand and maybe even accept the differences. The writing style was a very easy read, as most of it was conversation. It is not very poetic, or alluring, but Bhagat does a good job telling the story. I wish I could have given it 3.5 stars. I feel it is more than a 3, but less than a 4. I tend to rank things 4 when I would read them again. I don't think I would read this again.
