I didn't know what iwasgetting myself into when I picked up this book. Im not usually in to scary, but the story and poetry Of this novel made me hungry enough to keep going, often with my eyes half-covered and unfocusing on the sick plots of a sick man. Sebolds story of death and living and living with death weave together one Of the mysteries which humans have been trying to unlock since we first wore clothes. What happens when we are no longer among the living? What happens to our loved ones? Do we get a second chance? Does our life Or our death really matter? Sebold throws her narrative into the mix of hypotheses and you are left with a feeling of hope - for both the dead and the living.

This is an informative read for anyone interested in taking better care of themselves. Dr. Perricone's whole concept is that taking certain vitamins and supplements, eating foods that get you the most vitamins and following a proper skin care plan, will help you fight signs of aging. The best part is he explains exactly what Vitamin C, or Alpha Lipioc Acid, or Selenium, etc. does for your body. I've always known I should take my vitamins, but understanding what each one does, makes me much more motived. And the truth is, I like that the knowledge has a bent toward vanity and looking young, b/c that motivates me too. My friend Tanya is a trained esthetician and her teacher told her this should be on every esthetician's reference shelf.

Just like with the first in this series, I really enjoyed the suspense. It was a good story, although a little awkwardly written at times. He's not so good at expanding on the romance, but it is a Christian book. Oh, and although it is a Christian book, it isn't over the top. I'll be reading his next book in the series when it comes out.

This was an incredibly interesting book about a little girl who goes through foster care. It is heartbreaking and heartwarming all in one book.

"Curses" by Jim Butcher: This is my first (and so far, only) Jim Butcher and somehow I expected more. It was interesting, and everything pulled together in a clever way, but "clever" is about the strongest word I can use. 3/5 "How the Pooka Came to New York City" by Delia Sherman: I love immigration stories, so add some Irish fae to it and a likeable protag and I'm sold. 5/5 "On The Slide" by Richard Bowes: I felt like this was the prologue to a much more interesting story. But the way the main story overlapped with the movie-making was kinda cool. 3/5 "The Duke of Riverside" by Ellen Kushner: Pretty much everything I want from a Riverside story, but I am hugely biased. It was really fun seeing how Alec and St Vier first meet. 5/5 "Oblivion by Calvin Klein": Shopping is sex. Also sex is sex and somehow the Green Man is here. I just...really personally disliked this story. 2/5. "Fairy Gifts" by Patricia Briggs: If you like Patricia Briggs, you will like this. If you like vampires, you will like this. If you like Patricia Briggs AND vampires, you will REALLY like this. 4/5. "Underbridge" by Peter S. Beagle: COMPLETELY BELIEVABLE AND COMPLETELY TERRIFYING. 4/5. "Priced To Sell" by Naomi Novik: At first I was all "an urban fantasy about REAL ESTATE? REALLY? But then it seduced me and was pretty clever and funny. 4/5. "Guns for the Dead" by Melissa Marr: I'm not really a fan of Marr but this story had a lot of what I like about her (fascinating characters and world-building) and was too short for any of the stuff I dislike about her to bother me for long (hah). It's set in the land of the dead and...yeah it's really interesting, go read it. 3/5. "And Go Like This" by John Crowley: Hngggggggg I have a lot of negative things to say about this story so I'm just going to hush. Watch me hush. Totally hushed right here. i-just-didn't-like-it-i'm-sorry "Noble Rot" by Holly Black: I read this right after lunch and WOW WAS THAT A MISTAKE. Pretty gross but a good Holly Black story. 4/5. "King Pole, Gallows Pole, Bottle Tree" by Elizabeth Bear: A mystery/thriller with ghosts and memory in Las Vegas. <3 Bearrrrrrrr. 5/5. *currently reading*

Voyage in the Dark...when I read it, I was attracted to the fact the heroine was my age. But yeah, some girl who is part of a travelling theater troupe of some kind and is also really from the Caribbean (like Jean Rhys) and is very cold all the time (I think her name may be Anna?) meets some guy. He's really nice to her for awhile and then discards her. She has an abortion and you get the distinct impression this will be the first of many abortions.
