The witches want to conquer the world. To face them, an organization of Witch Hunters is established. Tasha is one of the strongest witch hunters, but to fight witches is not his only goal, he needs also to save his sister: she has the power of a witch and her magic is driving her mad. This manhwa has a story full of actions, twists and mysteries. The characters are funny and engrossing and the dialogues are full of humour. The graphics is good and it will improve in the following volumes. I own the Italian edition and the translation is o.k. even if it is not brilliant.

I loved it! But then again I love books that are just letters written back and forth between the characters. It had a little intrigue and romance and comedy. Pretty much perfect I say.

Nice quick read! Good to pick up between more intense books.

I read about 2/3 of this book about 4 years ago. I liked it, but there was so much political background I didn't know about that the book was hard for me to follow. My cousin Julie just recommended reading her memoir first and that helped explain a lot of background, which I think I might just do.

I would like to give this book 3 1/2 stars. It was interesting reading what amount to journal entries in poetry form. And for the person writing the journal to be an artist. I thought the dilemmas of a teenage girl were well presented and solved like a teen would solve them. Sophie is very interesting and I felt engaged with the rest of the characters as well. Overall I thought it was a good book and I read it in one night. I think I would like to try some of the author's other books.

Margaret's father is a botanist, and until recently, he worked at PolyTech in California. Margaret isn't sure why, but he was fired, and now he spends all his time in the basement, working on his plants. Margaret's friend Diane says he's a mad scientist, but those only exist in movies... right? The second book in R. L. Stine's Goosebumps series, Stay Out of the Basement has a bit of a science fiction feel to it. When Margaret Brewer and her brother Casey sneak down into the basement, they see plants everywhere, and a machine that looks like phone booth, with wires everywhere, attached to another similar device. As their father later explains, he's been trying to integrate animal DNA into plants. Does this device make anyone else think of The Fly? Any good scifi fan would know how dangerous this setup is. It's a pity Dr. Brewer isn't so well-informed. Margaret notices her father beginning to exhibit some unusual behavior, and when his baseball cap is knocked off, see that he has leaves growing out of his head. He claims that it's harmless, merely a side effect of his work, but Margaret isn't so sure. (Spoilers removed. The full review, including spoilers, is available here.) I think that, overall, Welcome to Dead House was the better book, but Stay Out of the Basement is a solid entry in the Goosebumps series. It's also available on the Kindle, as Classic Goosebumps #22, so if you're looking for a fun, quick read for kids, you might consider picking up a copy.

Julie lives a directionless life has her aunt and guardian die and learns that she is not who she thinks she is. Her name is really Giulietta and she is sent on a treasure hunt to Italy to discover the rest about her history and the history of her family. I liked the history parts, about the stories that Romeo and Juliet were based on. But when it turned to talking about Julie's real life everything was very cliche and predictable.

This book is so pervasive and historically significant that it is worth reading. The domestic, sentimental tropes are a bit much. James Baldwin's Everybody's Protest Novel gives unforgiving but accurate description of Stowe's project.
