I really enjoyed this collection. A couple of the stories felt like they needed a bit more editing -- there was some wandering about in the plot, but over all it was a fun, easy to read collection. I loved the idea that 8:30 had to feature in each story, and it was really interesting to see how that was worked into each story. I read it straight through, but I really like collections like this for when you only have a bit of time to read. Each story took me about 15 minutes to read and that's great for times when you have to dip in and out of books due to things going on around you. I will have to check into other collections.

I am enjoying this book, although it is very similiar to his first, The Kite Runner. The violence is hard to read, but all part of the story.

I'm not usually a huge fan of science fiction, but this book was incredibly well written and offered commentary on identity, linguistics, concepts of reality....it's been about ten years since I read it, but it's still a book that I think about almost on a weekly basis.

First off, I feel like I should say that I was born to live in a fantasy world. I need the bright colors, the shiny and the sparkling, and the eccentric. Clare created a world, upon which once you have the "sight," that I'd love to live in. The mythological creatures, fairy-tales come to life, and so much more can be found in this book. The general flow of the story was wonderful. The introduction of characters- all of which I loved, the revelation of past events and secrets, as well of the unfolding action was paced to perfection for me. I felt like I was actually able to enjoy the read instead of having to race through the pages trying to answer all the unknowns like I have in other series. If I were to have any negative criticism, it'd be the strange bouncing of perspectives. For example, at one point, Clary was speaking in first person, and the very next sentence was third. However, it wasn't as horrible as it sounds, so I was able to overlook it for the most part. As for the ending, I felt like I caught on to hints of it throughout the story, but outright disregarded the notion because it. Just. Can't. Be! I still refuse to accept it. Hopefully, I'll be saved in the second or third book with the *real* truth. (If not, I may end up a tad pissed off.) Oh, and lastly, Jace is yummy. He's the snarky asshole type that I always end up falling for no matter what. It's the hints of vulnerability that get me every time. Still, Seth is adorable, and while I'd be happy if Clarissa settled for him (and I'd be a little heartbroken for him if she doesn't), he'd always be my second choice. *sad sigh*

I liked it. Interesting way the book was organized, according to topic, which made it easier to keep each topic self contained so they could be explained--particularly the thought process. It was easy to believe that Bush took his job seriously and did the best he could with what he had. I listened to the Audible unabidged version, and I liked the narrator.
