2011 original reading: The most mind-numbingly horrifying thing I've ever read. 2014 re-read: Still the most mind-numbingly horrifying thing I've ever read. If anything slightly more so as having read some more of his oeuvre in the interim; I think Watts is trying to be upbeat. If you have any interest in Sci-Fi whatsoever, this is the best the genre has to offer.

I thought this was a very good book. It took a couple chapters to get used to how the author wrote. However it was very entertaining. I think those that have read Pride and Prejudice and enjoyed it would find this book also enjoyable.

This was a great book. I learned many historical facts about the women that lead the Relief Society over the years. More importantly, I learned the influence that one woman can have - no matter what her background or status is, if she completely dedicates her life to the Lord. Women can have great influence.

Much more strange and depressing than "Smoke and Mirrors". Gaiman's last short story collection had a fairy-tale quality running through it - this one has more of a dark side of humanity to it. Less funny, more thoughtful, more disturbing in non-magical ways. Gaiman without as much whimsy...except I love whimsy.

I read this after having watched the movie, which although entertaining was kind of lame. The book was much better. I still find it hard to get into the whole greek gods bit. I would have like the series better had it built off an original theme. However that said this book was actually pretty good, much like harry potter only with ancient greek instead of wizards and summers instead of school years.
