Yeah, this is kind of a funny story. When you think about it. Maybe at the surface it doesn't look very funny. I mean, the surface is Craig Gilner, a nerd who is so depressed at his new high-end high school in NYC he's on the verge of killing himself. OKay, that isn't funny. But then he goes into this psych ward place and meets all these funny people. So, in short this book was kind of funny. He said a lot of things that made sense and on top of it, he reminded me a bit of Holden Caulfield in The Catcher in the Rye which is awesome because I love that book. But if you don't love this book, then maybe it isn't the one for you. And maybe you should read something more boring like Twilight or something. Haha, I'm just kidding. Like this book ! :)

Bill Bryson can make me laugh out loud sometimes. This was the first of his books I ever stumbled upon, and is one of my favorites among his writings. Having done my fair share of hiking/camping and of the Appalachian Trail made this even better.

Had to throw this in the mix, especially since I spend so much time reading it. A remarkable book, even if aimed for a razor-thin audience.

The Last Song- This Book is one of the best book that I've read I'm so in love with because it kinda relate toward me and I could always read any type of Nicholas sparks book because the books that he write are like about love and couple and I really enjoy that. This book about a girl name "Ronnie" and that she wont be turning eighteen until the end of the summer so she has to follow her mom's had told her that she stills has to follow her mom rules and she is sent to going off with her younger brother, Jonah to spend the summer with her dad in a North Carolina beach town and Ronnie doesn't like it because Ronnie hasn't talked to her dad in over three years because he had left them moved back to his hometown. Ronnie spend her summer in North Carolina and her mother thinks that it might be the best thing for her. WANNA know more look for the book and read one :)
“If I found a job, a project, an idea or a person I wanted- I’d have to depend on the whole world. Everything has strings tied to everything else. We’re all in a net, the net is waiting, and we’re pushed into it by one single desire. You want a thing and it’s precious to you. Do you know who is standing ready to tear it out of your hands? You can’t know it may be so involved and so far away, but someone is ready, and you’re afraid of them all. And you cringe and you crawl and you beg and you accept them- just so they’ll let you keep it. And look whom you come to accept.” “There’s some good in the worse of us. There’s always a redeeming feature.” “What do you want? Perfection?” “—or nothing. So, you see I take the nothing.” “That doesn’t make sense.” “I take the only desire one can really permit oneself. Freedom.” “You call that freedom?” “To ask nothing. To expect nothing. To depend on nothing.” “What if you found something that you wanted?” “No, I wouldn’t go into law if I were you. You’re much too tense and passionate about tit. A hysterical devotion to one’s career deed not make happiness or success. It is wiser to select a profession about which you can be calm, sane and matter-of-fact.” “All growth demands destruction. You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs. You must be willing to suffer, to be cruel, to be dishonest, to be unclean-anything my dear, anything to kill the most stubborn of roots, the ego. And only when it is dead, when you care no longer, when you have lost your identity and forgotten the name of your soul-only then will know that kind of happiness I spoke about, and the gates of spiritual grandeur will fall open before you.” He spent more time with Dominique. Dominique watched him complacency, as if he presents no further problem to her. She seemed to find him suitable as an inconsequential companion for an occasional inconsequential evening. He thought that she liked him. He knew that this was not an encouraging sign…He forgot all the reasons that prompted him to want her. He felt no need to be prompted. He wanted her. He needed no reasons now but the excitement of her presence. Yet the felt helpless before her…” “He went away, relieved and desolate, cursing himself for the fill, persistent feeling that told him he had missed a chance which would never return; that something was closing in on them both and they had surrendered. He cursed, because he could not say what it was that they should have fought.” “My dear, you will never be more than a dilettante of the intellect, unless you submerge yourself in a cause greater than yourself.” “We cannot know what will be right or wrong in a selfless society, nor what we will feel, nor in what manner. We must destroy the ego first. That is why the mind is so unreliable. We must not think. We must believe…even if your mind objects. Don’t think. Believe. Trust your heart, not your brain. Don’t think.. Feel. Believe.” “Love is reverence, and worship and glory and the upward glance. Not a bandage for dirty sores…Those who speak of love most promiscuously are the ones who never felt it. They make some feeble stew out of sympathy, compassion, contempt and general indifference, and they call it love. Once you’ve felt what it means to love as you and I know it- the total passion for the total height, you’re incapable of anything less.” “It takes two to make every great career; the man who is great, and the man- almost rarer- who is great enough to see greatness and say so.”

** spoiler alert ** CONTAINS SPOILERS!!! Is this series over yet? The 8th book in the House of Night series, Awakened is the second-to-last book before the finale (at least, that’s what I thought—correct me if I’m wrong)! Can I get a woo-hoo? While I loved this series in the beginning, it has started to drag and all the pop culture references are getting to me. I don’t recall there being so many in the beginning books, but now it’s just getting ridiculous. To me, adding so much petty dialogue revolving around these references is ridiculous. It adds nothing to the plot and makes the writing seem lazy—like the Casts had a word limit to reach and thought they’d throw in a few silly conversations that add nothing to the plot. Aside from what I’ve said about previous installments to this series, Awakened actually had a few good things going on. First, I love—LOVE—the Stevie Rae and Rephaim romance that’s going on. Zoey and Stark are old news (though Stark is way better than Heath, in my opinion—why the heck did they decide to bring Heath back??), Stevie Rae and Rephaim are the new ‘IT’ couple for the series. I love that Rephaim was finally turned into a real boy, though I did love the mysteriousness of him being a half-man/half-bird. Sexy. Second, I love Aphrodite. She’s a great character and is probably the most well-written character in the series. There should be more of her in the next book, in my opinion. And now the bad things: First, I can’t believe that Kalona can get into Stark’s body—how weird is that? Just because of this happening, I’m betting that—by the end of the series—Zoey is going to be back with Heath and Stark will be dead. There’s no way if Kalona’s in charge of Stark’s body that Stark won’t end up dying in the end. Second, where was Zoey this whole book? She chose to stay on the Island of Skye and completely ignored the responsibilities she should have been bold enough to take. And after mourning Heath, she immediately gets infatuated with trying to get it on with Stark. Lastly, out of all the characters to die in a book, why choose Jack? If it’s anything like Heath’s death, he’ll just be brought back anyway, but seriously. There are some other really annoying characters that could have been killed off instead. The first House of Night book, Marked, was released 4 years ago. Maybe I’ve just grown up a lot in the past 4 years, but I’m wondering why I was so intrigued with this series in the first place. The writing can be sloppy in places—and sometimes just plain silly—and the characters seem to act younger than their age. In 4 years, I’ve read so many better books and yet, after 4 years of reading these books, I feel like I should tough it out to the bitter end. Come on P.C. and Kristin—pick up your socks and write something great, something unexpected and amazing for the finale! Your readers deserve it.
