Lots of secrets to keep and to juggle: can she pull it off again? This is a terrific TV journalist mystery series. Hank Ryan is nominated for an Agatha for this entry: much deserved.

Well what can i say about this book, complicated... intriguing, beautiful images created and an amazing world..can't wait for the next book probably would've got more stars if it didn't have angels (stupid thing to say based on the book i don't know, just dont like angels the whole perfect thing ...ugh ever heard that its loving the flaws that make you truly love a person or something or another anyway) however seeing that there was angels the word "Perfect" was used very little (SCORE!) or any words along those lines. but a pretty good opening to a new series YAY! its is really really good :) and the whole J.B. thing wow didnt see that coming only complaint is that Madeline is toooooo old 32 jeesh she should be younger she certainly acts it 25-29 maybe, but 32 is too old and a (view spoiler) wow thats some specialness July 2011

This book is a collection, a dictionary if you will, of bizzare phrases and their origination. The funny thing is, the book is really old and most of the phrases haven't even been spoken in the last 40 years. To make things even more comical, the author doesn't seem to know where many of these phrases cam from so he simply "guesses" and tells you when he is, which is often.

Fun story with detailed and realistic black and white illustrations. It might be a little scary for younger audiences, but great for older children. Our girls enjoyed the suspense of the story and we really enjoyed reading it together. This book was selected as one of the books for the January 2016- Quarterly Caldecott discussion at the Picture-Book Club in the Children's Books Group here at Goodreads.

I loved the prose, and how the story was told from Changez' perspective as he told his life story to a stranger in a Lahore restaurant.

It's not often I give up on a book but perhaps unsurprisingly I had to admit defeat when it came to this War and Peace epic on Coleen's five or so years of vicarious fame so far, and her burgeoning career as a - erm - 'Closer' columnist/style guru. I have a suspicion she's not quite got to grips with the offside rule yet, but she does have lots of handy fashion tips, highlighted in pink of course.
