Stuart Bowditch has been a friend of mine for about twenty years and I am a fan of a lot of his artistic endeavours so this is not an unbiased opinion. I think everybody should read poetry once in a while as a change in pace. This collection of poems has the added advantage of being presented as an Ordnance Survey map. Once you manage to spread it open and look at what is contained you see a lovely hand drawn map of Southend (and an inset of Essex) with numbered locations that map to the places that inspired the various poems. All the places and people mentioned are instantly recognizable to anybody from the Southend area, and I'm sure they will translate to people across the world. This collection of poems is well worth a read, and I have already read several of them a couple of times.
