This book was fine enough, and certainly good for putting-down and picking-up again at leisure...I'm just not sure if I'll be picking it up again in the near future with some of the other more tempting candidates on my shelf. 'Know-It-All' is laid out chapter by chapter according to the alphabet, as the author takes you through interesting facts he discovers while reading the Encyclopaedia Britannica cover-to-cover. Written in part-memoir, part-reference book style, the author sometimes gets a bit to self-amused or self-impressed for my tastes, and certainly doesn't care about coming off as such. I can see myself coming back to this at some point, but for now I'm afraid it's going to have to collect some dust.

Tyrell was, without a doubt, a page turning book. Between his relationship with his mom, him taking care of his little brother, and 'girlfriend' Novisha, I never wanted to put the book down. I'm still wondering where he ended up going and what he ended up doing after what had happened. If only the book didn't have to end.

This was an am zing book. A new approach to an old topic. The point of view of the narrator was a cool twist. Seeing WW2 through a German childs eyes in Germany just gave new insight into the tragedies that everybody suffers in a war. I'd recommend this to anybody (teen and older). Just be ready for a book that will keep you reading from beginning to end.

The narrator's story was very piecemeal and detached. I could not have cared less about him or his life. I'd been looking forward to getting immersed in a different culture.

Alan Moore is one of those rare writers that can string together incredibly different ideas into a very engaging, layered story. He also has someone draw it. Watchmen is probably the best example of a Post-Moderist work I could easily recommend to the casual reader. It give new life to the super-hero genre while also being deeply philosophical and analytical. It's an engrossing read that could easily take up your whole day if you aren't careful.
