Delicious was such a treat to read! I’m not usually into the whole baby mama drama, but I think this series is an exception because I’ve come to love all the characters in their own special way. Alyssa is by far my favourite heroine in this entire series! I loved the fact that she understood her feelings for Luc from the very beginning and knew exactly what she wanted to do. She had ambitions, brains and an inner strength that I really admired. Her past is a haunting one but she still is able to remain strong and run two businesses with ease. I admired her courage to stand up against her fears and her strength to hang on when things got tough for her. She’s got all the makings for being the perfect heroine! Luc was also one of my favourite characters in Decadent! There were some moments when I was frustrated by his choices, but that’s all part of the experience because we readers know things that both of them didn’t. There are a lot of misunderstandings in this one and I just kept wishing that they would TALK TO EACHOTHER FOR ONCE! I was cheering for them since the beginning and while their story was a rollercoaster ride, it was a great one! I’m sensing a trend here in this series. Not only is there wicked hot sex, but there’s also a lot of crazy motherfuckers who like to stalk women! In this book alone, there are three stalkers! But in all honestly, I’ll admit I really, really enjoyed finding out who the stalkers were. It fits with the storyline and definitely makes it more fast-paced and end-of-your-seat good! And then there’s Tyler, whom I just adored! I am so happy he’s going to be getting his own book and I cannot wait to see what Black has in store for him! I love love LOVE this series!!! This picture reminds me of Luc and Alyssa, though he's got longer hair and Alyssa is blonde. But the kitchen setting is perfect! MMm mmm, DELISH!

After having read 'Rooms' by Rubart, I thought I'd try another one of his books. The best way to describe this book is 'The National Treasure' of Christianity. It would make a good movie. Although Hollywood would certainly take out the spiritual aspect. I found 'Book of Days' an intriguing mystery, definitely different from his first one. Although it still has that 'mystical' aspect, at least enough not to be too far out there. What I appreciate most from Rubart's writing is how well he describes feelings and emotional experiences. I love his description of what it could be like to be in the presence of God.

Another great work of pulp fiction by the master, Jim Thompson. This is set in a small rural Texas town and centers around lazy, care-free sheriff who avoids all conflicts and confrontations to the point of absurdity - that is until he meets a new lover. The foreground story is interesting, funny, and disturbing, but the background of the narrative remains important as well - rural Texas during a pre-civil rights era where race tensions are festering. I also recommend the film adaptation by French filmmaker, Bertrand Tavernier; the film is called Coup de Torchon. What's interesting about the film is its change of setting. Instead of rural Texas it is French colonial Africa.

Such a good book for young girls. I enjoyed it a lot. Virginia was a great character and I want to know more about her. I read this in one sitting because I just had to know how it ended. I think all girls should read this.

Despite my initial reservations about this book, yes, I watched Titanic, and how long it took me to read this book because of my fear of the ending, I really loved this book. It has the same draw that her Evernight series does, though I admit the first Evernight book is in a category all to itself. It has a great supernatural draw, heart wrenching historical elements, drama and a heart pounding (yes, I actually used that phrase) romance. I loved the characters and how even the supporting characters had their own problems and dramas. The level of the development that these supporting characters have makes this book even more heart wrenching for me, especially when they are going through their own heartbreak at the same time as the main character. Another thing I liked about this book was that they were trapped on a ship in the middle of the ocean. No matter what drama and dangers they managed to get into on the ship they couldn't escape from it. They were stuck on the ship with nowhere to hide and nowhere to run. And yes, as always, how can I go without mentioning the main guy? Alec, for me, was one of the best characters in the book, if only because the male love interest always is my favourite. He has all his own problems, heartbreaks and troubled history, but even through it all he manages to fall in love with a servant girl, recognising all the beauty she has both inside and out. He protects her, from both himself and the outside world and, in the end, puts her safety above his own. But I have to say, the best part about this book was that it had a happy ending. I love when a book has an ending that makes me happy, leaving me with a nice review to write. Especially when I was crying through chapters not moments before, and then laughing and swooning before that. So, overall response: Five stars. Characters: Five stars. Cover: Four stars (The shiny bit blinds me). Plot: Five stars (I love the weave of romance and drama). I hope this convinces others who are hesitating to read this book. It really is very good.
