I'm still thinking this book through after finishing it a few days ago. Not that it's that amazing, just that it has a lot of interesting perspectives. Oliver James's last book (they f*** you up) was all about how your experiences in your first four years of life impact your later personality and development. In this next work he uses similar tools to look at how the wider society impacts the mind, and largely focussing on how what he calls Selfish Capitalism increases the level of mental illness in a society. Be warned, he's quite anti-American (as a shorthand for a certain type of capitalism), and he's a bit of a reactionary (wants the UK government to prevent any foreign ownership of the UK media, or in fact of any property in the UK!), but his politics is actually less important than you might think. In the end, this book is an exhortation to develop intrinsic values rather than consumerist values, and to focus on family, friends and true joys in life. Worth a read if you're stuck in the rat race and wondering where it's all going.

This book is AWESOME! I never got Revelation until I read this book. It reads a little like a text book, but that couldn’t stop me from reading it until the end. You have to get through it in order to get the amazing truths that Phillips brings to the table. He portrays the end times in real time events and situations as well as fictional representations by other classic authors. Let me tell you, that really keeps you interested! He also helped by translating the measurements and imagery of the book into things that we know and can relate to, using things we understand or already know like other Scripture and classic novels or plays. The book was very intense and unrelenting in its depiction of the end times. I enjoyed it so much I find no words good enough to describe it! Quite frankly this book is worth every bit of time you invest in it. It took me quite a while to get through it, but I am extremely glad that I did! God is king and I am His servant destined to someday sit with Him on high and rule over Earth as was intended from the start! 2000 years for us is like two days to Him, so be patient. God is coming, and He will reward those who are faithful! My hero is not a man who can fly around with his underwear on the outside of his tights, He is not a man who has metal bones and blades between his knuckles, but He is all powerful and all present and all knowing! My God is an awesome God! Overall opinion: Get it. Read it. Follow God. Love God. That is all you’ve got to do.

All in all I really liked the book. It was full of action and mystery. You had to keep on reading to find out what was really going on. Which can both be positive and negative. Good that you have to find out all these new things during the story. But bad when you get a bit lost because there are somethings you can´t really figure out. I really liked the book because it had an really amazing world, which must come from some amazing brains. Everything is different, from our own world. But you can still imagine, what our world could become. And that´s what is fascinated. And the twist with the cancer made me keeping on reading. The characters grow a lot in the book, and you want to keep on reading to find out what will happen to them, how they will survive. And not to forget the romance. Will they get together :) But unfortunately I got a little lost in the middle of the book. Because there where just to many new detailes and names. But probably a bit my own fault. Since I was a bit sleepy while reading :( But I chose giving the book 4,5 out of 6 stars Since the story captured me. And the action and characters captivated me :) Though the language was a bit difficult some times. I recommend this book. Though it probably wont fit a person who is new to English. Since the language is a bit advanced :)

This book was not that enjoyable. I thought it was extremely obvious and then descended into an excuse for obscure rambling. Maybe it was supposed to be deep, but mostly it was tedious. There were a few good scenes within the drivel, but I wouldn't recommend anyone waste their time.
