What the government did wrong and did right at the time of the attacks. Health problems faced by the first responders and residents of the area. The legal battles to prove cause and effect. In our rush to prove to the world that nothing can break us; that you may knock us down but we'll be back on our feet tomorrow, neither the government nor the workers did anyone any favors.

I liked this book alot. I read it a really long time ago, but I still remember the characters and feeling enraged and enthralled all at the same time.

I loved the storyline of The Dovekeepers. The historical setting, the facts that are woven seamlessly into the storyline, and the fact that it was about a time that I knew very little about piqued my interest straight away. And having read the book now, I'm actually keen to find out more. An absolute highlight was definitely the ending of the book. It was powerful, intense, and the pacing absolutely suited the events. I also loved that there is a summing up of events for the character at the end - a sort of prologue that satisfies the curiousity and need to know about the characters you find yourself caring about. A really good read that had the added bonus of making me feel like I've learnt something new (and want to learn more).

Robin is the main characters name in this book. I enjoyed reading this book because Robin is a ballet dancer and dance is something I like to do. The main idea of this story is that a young girl named Robin, accidently threw her book bag at a store window. This store just happend to belong to a retired ballet dancer, Mr. Cho. Nobody knows he was a famous ballet dancer though. Mr. Cho made Robin work at his store for three months to pay off the window.Robin and Mr. Cho didn't get along so good at the begging. As she spend every day with him she starts to learn more and more about him. For example, she learns that he is only kind to children and his baby angelfish. Later on she finds out that when he lived in china when he was a young boy, the red guard had threw him in the street and posted crimes on a sign and made him wear it. When in relality all he did was dance. They also cut off his toes so he couldn't dance any more.Robin also found out that he was a famous ballet dancer. Toward the end, Robin's ballet teacher, Madame, gets hurt. Robin asked Mr.cho to design the coustumes for the showcase they were gonna do. At first he didn't want to but then he agreed and he took on the whole prouduction.

The First page had me, I think Phury's and Cormina's story needed more interaction between the two of them. But we did get alot of other info about things also happening with the rest of the BDB, and other characters, which was awsome.

Absolutely loved this book! I joke that I've learned more about girls reading this book than in 25 years of life experience, but there is truth in that. I feel like I know Ned know on a much more personal level and have somewhat of an idea (albeit an outsider's perspective) of what the married life is like! It made me cry, laugh, and cheer and is one of the greatest love stories I've ever read.

it's one of those i'm-alone-in-the-world-feel-sorry-for-me type books, but soooo much better than dave eggers' a heartbreaking story of staggering genius. i found the author's banter very witty. especially when the main character has all sorts of ridiculous rules for staying single, and all sorts of inside jokes. It made me think to myself that i'd like to be more that way.... but that it's just not my nature to have inside jokes. i probably just have very simple dialog running through my head.
