Gentle. And sweet. Interesting words to describe a book called "The Graveyard Book." It is for a young audience but adults will enjoy the grave as well and will feel safe there, which is an interesting feeling to feel. I really enjoyed the characters. Especially Silas. Liza was great, too. I wish that there was more elaboration on some of the events. The book could have been much longer and more detailed and I would have loved it.

not even sure what to say about this book - it was so intense ...its basically a murder mystery that ties into represssed memories from child molestation. yes sounds crazy, and devastating for sure, but it was a great read - i'd swear its been made into a movie, but that may just be because the book played out like a film in my head

My first Grisham novel, though I had also bought The Rainmaker I never brought myself to read them. There were quite a few chapters in this book that hit me like a shots of vodka -- bitter and harsh, Grisham is not willing to let up the graphic imageries. At first I thought it was a gutsiness -- until I realized that there's a whole genre out there centered on the shock of graphic details. He's still a damned good story writer, though. (Populist fic; 350 pages)
