A ride. Filled with truly fantastic ideas, words that actually make you think. Despite a rather original writing frame, despite being chronologically odd, despite being overly childish at times and overly mature at others- I could hardly put it down, hungry for the next scene, the next notion. A book that demands a second read. And a whole webpage devoted to quotes.

Libby Sarjeant retired from acting to re-invent her life. She's helping produce a play about local events which is getting mixed reactions from the people originally involved. When one of the actors dies, is it a reflection of the older murders and is it linked to the accidents happening in the theatre. Not an impressive read but not a bad read, in fact it's quite pedestrian and wouldn't induce me to hunt up more books by this author, however I wouldn't avoid books by this author.

At times the author seemed to want to address Leonardo's science in terms of modern theories, at other times it was a more straight-forward description of what appeared in the Notebooks. Despite a rather shaky thesis, the book had interesting information.

LOVED IT! Was my first thought when I closed the book. Well, actually that was after I jumped around screaming that I wanted to read the sequel. My second was: Dimitri. Hahah, yup. Tall dimitri with his dark hair and deep dark eyes. This book is a spin-off from the VA series. Mead is now telling the story from Sydney's view. An Alchemist. Sydney is not the same girl as Rose. Their personalities are totally different. For example: When Lauren would have done all those things to Vasilissa, Rose would have just beat Lauren up, while Sydney takes the sneaky, full with patiente way to get back at Lauren. The Alchemist way. But then you can also see the stamp of Mead in it. All her female heroines are fiercefull, young ladies. Who fight for what they want. Only they manage this in other ways. The beginning of the book was very good. All those Alchemist matters and Sydney being afraid for going to a re-education center. But then, the story became a bit less. Not boring. But less. I get it, though. Mead had to introduce us to the situation the characters lived in, but a bit more action could have been very nice. But like I said, I get it. I just hope that in the sequel (have you seen the title? AAAAAHHH!! LOVE IT!!, just like BLOODLINES) there will be more action. The rest is just what we always expect and get from Mead: her great writing.

This is tough, but amazing book. It is tough because of the content, the genocide in Rwanda and Bosnia, but an important book. Neuffer tells a detailed story of the conflicts in both regions. Younger audiences should shy away for now.

"The distopia future of the United States, after an uprising against the government control, cities where closed off and forced under a strict regime. There were 13 separate “Districts” though the 13th was over taken by the government as a show to the other 12 to instill fear in the people. Surviving is the name of the game, and it is truly based on what human race can do to live. There are bonds that are made that are meant to be broken… and what can Katniss do… killing a human is much different than killing an animal? Or is it? These games push people to their brink, those that have been training their whole lives from Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4 as Careers to those that had no other choice… like Rue. There are friendships that get formed and lies, and struggle. This books makes us question what we are capable of doing when your life is on the line… it makes us question how much power can the government have, and will this be the end of society that we know. The society that is so based on multi media they can not function. The society of different levels…. Follow Katniss in her struggle for survival and what she does in The Hunger Games. "

Bu kitap dizideki ilk kitap gibiydi. Kısmen biraz yavaştı ama dünya iyi inşa edilmişti. Üçleme olması planlanmasaydı, hız hiç sorun olmazdı. Hikayenin zaman içinde nasıl sarılacağını merak ediyorum. Hikayenin ilerlemesini seviyorum ve dizinin geri kalanını gerçekten dört gözle bekliyorum.
