I read this for English in high school and I remember it being kind of boring. The only part I enjoyed was when they were helping the black man escape his cell. That part was hilarious, even though it was a horrible way to treat another human being.

Gaiman is fun, but there is too much crammed in here. This book could have been five times the length, yet it would have gotten boring. It felt very much as if I was reading the cliff notes to the Lord Of The Rings. It's a cool world and I enjoyed being in it, I think sometimes more than the author did. Great for a restless night.

I really liked this book. I'm a fan of angst and sexual tension so this was right up my alley. I'll look for more from this author.

This is probably my least favorite of her books and I can't really figure out why. It has so much beautiful written, fantastic imagery (as in all her books) and a very topical subject. Still, in the end I think it was just too muddled for me to really enjoy.

A brilliant and salient look at what happened after the "fall" of Baghdad. It certainly didn't make me feel any better about the situation but I derived hope from the spirit of the Iraqi people the author met along the way.

Teeny, young , and starry -eyed fiancee of Bing, comes home early one night to see her beloved playing badminton with two women. This might not look too suspicious at first but the fact that they are playing in the buff sends Teeny reeling. She has a hissy fit and starts throwing peaches at the naughty trio. When Bing brings her up on assault charges, Teeny realizes he's not quite the wonderful man she thought he was. Needless to say, the wedding is off! It's not bad enough that Teeny is put on probation, but now she has no where to live. When she gets a text message to meet Bing at the house, she hurries over there only to find out that Bing has been murdered. Who is clever enough to send a text using Bing's phone and then erases the message from Teeny's phone so she has no proof? Of course, Teeny is the major suspect and shortly after she runs into Cooper O'Malley, the former love-of-her-life, who just happens to be a lawyer and he agrees to represent her. How convenient a coincidence! With a cast of quirky characters, some not so loveable as others and enough viable suspects, West pens a fun southern mystery that kept me on my toes throughout the book. The end when the killer was revealed was a complete surprise to me. The story is set in South Carolina and I think West did a great job with sense of place. A few incidences were over- the- top- hard to believe but overall the story was entertaining and fast paced. I'd definitely read a sequel and with the way the book ended, it's pretty obvious there is one planned.

I can't properly review this book without spoiling it, but I can say a couple of things. I'd give this book an extra 1/2 star to my rating if I could based mostly on the entire series. I did like that Katniss showed growth in many areas in this book. Her character was somewhat irritating in her inability to get past the huge chips on her shoulders and see things for what they really are, there was some movement in that area. She learned to stop and think. Always good. I didn't like the way some things were handled, they should have been written more emotionally and then given more importance than they were. It was almost as if the author was limited to how many pages were to be published and got near the end and just wrapped somethings up too quickly and without the gravity they deserved. And after three books of Katniss overthinking and hearing everything she had to say about everything that happened, it seemed funny that we didn't get to work through some things with her. Not my favorite book of the three, but was glad to read this trilogy.
