By far my favorite of Shakespeare's comedies, probably because it's also (at least) partly a tragedy. The disenfranchised Duke Prospero and his daughter Miranda are the central figures, as they ensnare the Milanese court and attempt to right past wrongs. Prospero's fiendish servant Caliban speaks some of Shakespeare's most artful and heartbreaking lyrics, while the Prince of Milan (Ferdinand) falls wildly in love with the beautiful Miranda.

hmmm...this book kept me interested. it was an easy read and suspenseful in parts, even though you basically know how it ends. the author was a little...melodramatic, perhaps, and i found it difficult to really like her or sympathize with her.

I honestly don't know why people flocked to this book. It's a middle east conflict done up in a sci-fi setting with 70s influences all over it. Mediocre at best, reading this one was almost a chore.
