This book picks up right after Once a Witch. Tasmin is still getting used to having a talent and being betrayed by her family for hiding it. With the actions of the last book, their future is still not secure, in fact it almost seems like things are worse. Tasmin thinks that everything is her fault, so she has come up with a plan to fix it. Her plan leads her back to the late 1890's, a shock for sure. I was surprised at how well she was able to fit into that time period. I don't know about you, but there would be things that I would have issues with, especially if I was one of those at the bottom of the class system that was so prevalent in those times. It takes Tasmin a little while to evaluate just what is going in, but quickly she has the lay of the land and little by little works out a plan. She has to convince her family in this time period to trust and help her, which is harder than it sounds. In the end, while Tasmin does get some help at the last minute she knows what needs to happen and she does so at great cost to herself. I think that Tasmin made the right decision and it was weird to see her go back to her time and see what changes her actions caused.

I read the book before seeing the movie and I am glad I did. This book captivated me from beginning to end. I love the images Golden gives through his writing. I absolutely loved it. The movie was good but did not fully capture the essence of the culture.

This was a great book! I listened to the audio and the reader was fantastic. Forrest is the son of the Ravenmaster at the Tower of London. There are some really interesting facts about the time period and the story was easy for me to become involved in.

3.5 stars I liked the story line of this book, I liked the pace and I liked the characters for the most part. I don't get why Harkness has to go on for so long in seemingly pointless portions of the story, and the action happens so quickly. I think the romance is a little cheesy as well, which is saying something because I'm a sucker for romance. However, I enjoyed figuring out more about Diana's power, and I was intrigued by the strong female characters in the book. I especially liked the last quarter of the book when Diana came back to the US. I am excited to read the next book, but don't think much will be resolved yet. ** upon second reading, I stick to my first review. ** finally reading the whole series and couldn't remember this one.

I’ll make this short and not beat around the bush. I liked the premise of the story and where it was heading. It ain’t predictable (I like big revelations) which kept me guessing till the end of the story but why only 3 stars? LILA (the main character) just gets in my nerves. The never ending babbling of how much in love she is with her brother’s best friend Alex is just infuriating …if I was a psy like her with telekinesis I would have thrown her in order to knock her head into normalcy.
