Cute story about a little boy who wants the iguana that his best friend has to get rid of when he moves. It's a clever set up -- the book is entirely letters written between the boy and his mom. He comes up with some pretty convincing arguments for getting the iguana, and his mom comes up with some equally convincing arguments against it. It had me laughing out loud. It's a bit too long for my kids right now -- best for kids ages 2 and up.

I read this book because I watched the movie. I knew what the book would be like and it's extremely similar to the movie. If you liked the movie, you'll enjoy the book. I personally thought this book was pretty good because it shows the love between Bella and Edward. A very out of place love, but Edward loves Bella unconditionally. It leaves the book wondering if the love between them can conquer everything above all. It makes you question if they will last and if there will be a happy ending to their story. I will say I didn't really like the climax, but Stephenie Meyer does a great job in describing each person's personality. It'll definitely keep you wanting to read more:)

This book was in my collection, but has been recycled. Adult historical fiction. Historical fiction saga of Israel becoming a state through the eyes of the Danziger family, four generations. No language. Some sex. I learned a lot (hopefully accurate) about the Jews, Arabs, and Palestinians. While reading this I followed the news of current warring between Sharon and Arafat. Sounds very much the same as twenty years ago when the story ended. Really enjoyed this book.

For the most part this is a really strong introduction to Darwin's thought and various stripes of neo-Darwinian theory and contraversy up to the present. Lewens is at his best as a philosopher of biology but gets a little worrying when he takes on normative ethics. One of the best features of this book is a short list of recommended texts for the various subjects he covers in his chapters.

I wasn't sure I was going to like the book when I first started since it didn't seem like the manly read. I was right about that, but wrong about enjoying the book. It was a nice, light-hearted book with plenty of plot. Perhaps it was a little predictable at times, but it was still entertaining. Clean too.
