One of the things I love about Guy Gavriel Kay is the richness of the worlds he creates. The story told here was so complex, on so many levels -- not just the complexity of plot, but also of character and emotion and how all those things wove together to a truly touching ending. I love his work.

Honestly the last three chapters of this book are the only ones worth reading. This book felt more like a pre-qual with Luce going back in time to see all her past lives and Daniel chases after her. For the most part I felt like this book was going nowhere. The last three chapters show us how Daniel and Luce became cursed and how Daniel adds a loophole, which is why this life is different. It also sets us up for the next and final book Rapture. I'm glad that Lauren Kate is not dragging out this series like other Authors do. I will read the next one only because it's the last otherwise I would have left this series and never looked back.

What was the point to this graphic novel? Oh yeah, that's right...there wasn't one. I have no clue what the author was thinking when she wrote this novel, I kept waiting for a reason behind the plot and why the characters were acting a certain way, but I never found anything to justify it. The characters were not developed and I never cared an ounce for anything that happened to them. The illustrations were marred by the story's lackluster plot and I wondered why I had wasted my time reading this novel.
