I had to think through this book a little further before making my decision on whether or not I enjoyed it; I decided that it was disgustingly tragic (which, ironically, is usually a plus for me), but like William Shatner's acting... just too over the top. Yes, I realize it's based on a true story and all that, but that doesn't mean the writing style and characterization have to be so infuriatingly sympathetic. I can understand dwelling on mistakes made in the past... but Christ, when it involves rape and the Taliban, it's just too dark-fairy tale for me. Basically, I liked this book less and less the further I got away from it. No, I didn't see the movie and don't plan on it.

out of all the fantasy novels i've read, these are with out a doubt my all time favorites. I actually feel that the first book not the best one, but they get better and better as they go.

Intriguing world but parts of it weren't explained enough and the pacing was a bit uneven. Still, I liked it enough to want to read more and it was certainly steamy and imaginative.

It always amazes and inspires me to read stories of ordinary people willing to stand strong and fight for what is right. The main character in this book was that type of person. Dicey was amazing and what a honor to get to know her from true stories based from her history during the Revolutionary war. I am so grateful for people like Dicey and her "man" Thomas for fighting for our freedom when it comes with a price. Very well written patriotic book with a romance mingled in the middle. Love it!

If you liked “Made to Stick,” you’ll enjoy this follow-up from the Heath brothers, which is about how to approach problems and foster change. Not only is it insightful, the book is chock-full of inspiring anecdotes which all make you wish you had been ingenious enough to think of how to approach the solutions. Like the teacher who battled a couple of kids who never got to class on time. What to do? He bought a used couch and put it in the front row. First come, first serve—problem solved. Genius. And so is the book.
