I think this is one of the first "unreliable narrators" to show up in a Modernist novel? Definitely a well put together, well written story, but it doesn't warrant or really even stand up to multiple readings.

I enjoy finding fun digital short story series and this certainly is one. Thad Brown has some fun with Chapter One and I have previewed Chapter two, he just doesn’t stop. Who is Thad Brown and what does he have in store for us? Check this out and then tell me if you don’t think Biker Angel is worthy of the time and the money for the download: “From acclaimed author Thad Brown, the first of ten digital short stories from The Smoking Gun Sisterhood: Biker Angel. Call me Thad Brown. My real name is classified, to protect the guilty –I mean the innocent! After being born at an early age, I made it through the K-12 educational system (though I didn’t like it). From there, I went on to pick up a graduate degree or two, travel a bit in the U.S. and other countries, and become a writer, among other occupations (all of them legal –cross my heart!). For the background of this book, though, one of the most important things about me is that I’ve been a lifelong admirer of strong, brave heroines who face life without flinching, and especially of kick butt heroines: ladies who can swing a sword, handle a gun, or throw a punch; who can go toe-to-toe with a villain, look him (or her) right in the eye, and dish out justice. Growing up, I was a big fan of the ladies of Charlie’s Angels and The Avengers (and before that of the comic-book adventures of Supergirl); and over the years I discovered other heroines in this mold, onscreen and in print. (All right, she doesn’t really do any of that stuff –but in my estimation, she could!) Some of her qualities went into each one of the heroines of the stories in the SGS collection, if it’s only her good heart and fighting spirit; in its way, the book is my homage to her, and to all the real-life heroines out there, noticed or unnoticed. So stand tall, girls; us guys salute you! “ Tongue securely in cheek, Thad Brown takes us on a wild ride that doesn’t want to stop. I thoroughly enjoyed Kate, the main character in Biker Angel. She is the ultimate good bad girl or bad good girl; however you want to look at her. I especially enjoyed the underlying storyline of Kate discovering her self-worth in the process. Do yourself a favor, and plunk down the $.99 for this 12,710 word romp and you won’t be disappointed, but thoroughly entertained. One can’t say they get much for that price anymore, let alone having the privilege of having a gun or two pointed at you by a blond biker who also gives life lessons. To my understanding there are number of installments to this series, so if you are someone that enjoys reading about strong women that like to take charge and are in charge, Thad Brown’s work is for you. Saddle up the Kindle, smartphones and ereaders, put on your biker clothes, oil your weapon of choice up and get into that frame of mind, The Smoking Gun Sisterhood is ready to roll. I have to admit to my guilty pleasure in both the series and the book. I think it is actually well written. The character is likable and the plot at the beginning leaves it open as to whether this is a crime or a crime of nature.Truth be told, I loved it.
