I liked how the story was unpredictable and surprising at the end. The contrast between Vix & Caitlin in demographic was extreme, yet I liked how they each faced struggles with their family relations and self-discovery. It was a nice reminder that no matter how charmed someone's life may appear, we all have struggles and challenges to work thru. This is definitely not a teen or children's book of Judy Blume's. It contains adult subject matter.

It was good, but it felt a little too short. There wasn't much plot/character development, and the end was really abrupt. But I liked the way it was written.

This was a fabulous murder mystery! Generally, I don't go for mysteries as I figure out too soon who the culprit is and how they did it, but in this case - even though I still knew who did it slightly before the main character, the resulting plight of said main character kept me on the edge of my seat while it all played out. Kudos to Alan Bradley for keeping me hooked after that moment of realization, and I will be looking up his other novels to read as well!

This is a really interesting book. I wasn't sure I wanted to read it, but did for bookclub and I am really looking forward to the discussion. Especially because when we lived in Queens, the family above us was from India and their marriage had been arranged. They were great together.

I liked the action in this book. The shifter world it takes place in was a nice change from everything else out there right now. I would've liked it a bit more if the ending would have expanded on their relationship a little more. But I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more by Ms. Stone in the future. Hopefully, I won't have to wait very long. Sophie is in the rain forest of Peru working on an earthquake ravaged archeological site where she meets Adriano. He's there working as he's also searching for an ancient artifact to buy he's way back into his tribe of jaguar shifters. Of course there are other factors working against them as they quickly find themselves acting on their attraction, finding adventure and trying to stay alive long enough to enjoy it all.

It seemed like sometimes her style of outlining instead of writing paragraphs was more lazy than creative. It felt like I could skip big chunks of it and it would have no effect on the story-I didn't like that.
