The book Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini is a story about a teenage boy, who above all else wants to be popular and go out with beautiful Christine. Jeremy Heere is an average high school teenager willing to do almost any thing to become popular and go out with a beautiful girl named Christine. He found the answer to his problems when he finally found out about the squip. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes realistic science fiction about the lengths that some people will go to, to get what they couldn’t have.

When I was in fourth grade, there was a french teacher at the local highschool who was one of my mother's friends, and who loved the fact that I was so into fantasy and science fiction, so a few times a month would dump his old classics on me, some good, some bad, but all devoured with the single-minded voracity that only a middle-school book-worm can muster I vividly remember this book, because it was so different than anything else I had read up to this point. The world of Earthsea was more real, less exciting, the hero thoughful rather than bold and attractive. LeGuin's Earthsea books were more philosophical, more introspective than almost anything else I read at the time, and I loved them. Not that I stopped reading Eddings and Brooks, but there was something about their slowness and their brevity - more fantasy authors should write short, self-contained novels rather than force their recycled ideas over bloated trilogies.

A positively inspirational, educational book. I even really liked the second section about logotherapy. I think this ranks among one of the best books I've ever read and I feel like I have been changed for the better for reading it, as well as having some good things to think about.
