What can I say about this book that hasn't been said many times before and much more eloquently? It's simply one of the most wonderful books I've read. I'm not a romantic except when it comes to Jane Austen. The twists and revelations in Pride and Prejudice get me so wrapped up in the characters' fates that even rereading it I'm still bursting with anticipation. So maybe the ultra-happy ending isn't quite realistic - don't let that discount the wonderfully detailed view of high society and women's lives during this period, not to mention the smart and funny writing.

I read this book virtually in one sitting - the writing was easy to read, and although I didn't necessarily identify with the narrator, I was drawn into the story. Despite its opening line, ("This is the saddest story I have ever heard"), it doesn't really become too sentimental. At best, it is a novel that makes you think about appearances - how we judge others by their presentation to us, and how we interpret their actions in light of our own human experiences with hte world. At worst, the narrator, and none of the other characters in the novel, for that matter, are very likeable.

i loved this book. i had to read it for english sophmore year and of all the books i've been forced to read, this was the best. the characters felt alive and it's a book i've gone back to read again. it's just a wonderfully written book that transcends the time in which it was written. i would recommend this book to anyone who yearns for a good book.

loved this book...a very interesting treatise on the effect the socially unchecked rise in internet porn is having on people (mostly men) and their relationships. talks about porn addiction in chemical/biological terms as well as purely culturally, which i found interesting.
