This provided great detail for the journey to the elite four. It provides where everything is and still lets you discover things for yourself. It provides almost nothing for after the elite four, but that was good because I like to explore.

Bag of Bones by Stephen King Extolled by critics as Kings talent with a new sensitive side, I tend to agree. The story has a heart-warming mushy side to it that in my current mood, I found addicting in that same way that chocolate in certain times of the month and romantic comedies can be. Of course, there was also the whole hauntings thing, which I am just an eternal sucker for anyways, and a not too predictable twist. Although, I may have been distracted by the chocolate/romance thing. All in all, it kept me up at nights and I almost missed my train stop a few times, which equals a good ‘treat’ book.

I really liked The Things They Carried. In this novel I really admired O'Briens comparison between true and real stories as well as the overall concept of how the war affected him personally. I really appreciated how the stories are divided into individual stories because it makes the reader feel as if they have a personal connection with the main character and O'Brien himself. The language O'Brien uses whithin the novel was hard to understand at time but after it was reread it made sense. If I had to reccomend this book to anyone, I would. After reading The Things They Carried it made me interested with the other war books O'Brien wrote and how they are similar and different. Overall The Things They Carried was very intriguing and kept me interested through out the whole book.

Friends becoming not-friends, not sure this is what they wanted . . . It's like Ellen Tebbits for grown-ups, which makes it a hell of a lot more heartbreaking, and I sobbed over Ellen Tebbits.

I found this to be one of Banks' best novels, and it really demonstrated how good is he is as a writer: there are only a few characters and the plot itself is simple enough to have been just a short story, but I sped through the whole novel without becoming bored. Some people might dislike the final plot twist as author cheating, since he doesn't provide supporting clues for it, but it fits well with the setting, and the elegance of the writing smoothed it along.
