Although I was very skeptical about reading this book (wondering if a six year old boy could truly understand about Heaven and if this could be real) it became apparent to me that that wasnt the point of the book ... it didn't even really matter if the angels he saw were real or not. It was the spiritual insights and the attitudes that came shining through ... and I especially appreciate two things: 1) the father author made a special point of saying that every experience they had was supported by Scripture, and that was the yardstick they used to measure, and 2) none of this was about them, or bringing glory to them, but about honoring God. I believe it did bring honor to God, no matter what you belief about the supernatural things mentioned in the book. There were many messages of hope and encouragement for us even if you don't want to take the story at face value.

It gives an interesting look at transsexuals, crossdressing and "hermaphrodites". It's not an indepth look but rather a look at what challenges they face and the communities they form. Not bad book but good for general populace.

So before I put my two cents in I thought we would see what Amazon.co.uk has to say about this book: Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, woeking for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. And no matter how hard Cat tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever . . . and Bones won't let her get away again. This book for me was even better than the first one and so many parts of this made me laugh and made me cry. I love the fact that even though cat seems to lose people in her life she never lets it bring her down and she always seems to rise back up. Bones is gorgeous as ever and really draws you in. I have an Image of who he is in my head now and that makes it easier for me to inhale these books. I love the world that Jeaniene Frost is creating. Vampires running around with humans, half breeds, ghouls, ghosts, vampire law, etc. I do think that she could have gotten a little more original. It seems kind of all the same. I think that if she would have put her own spin on the vampire legend it would have made this book even more appealing for me and I would have enjoyed it that much more. Finally I love the mix of paranormal and romance and Urban fantasy with these books. Everyone always asks me where the line is. Urban fantasy is kick ass and solve a problem and Paranormal Romance is lets fall in love and solve a problem with lots of sex. This series so far is a good mix of both it keeps me entertained. Todays releases the way that they are its a tough thing to do.

Upon looking for something new to read, and knowing nothing about the author, this one instantly caught my eye. Reading the back synopsis, which hardly gives anything away, about a female driver who cruises the highway looking for hitch hikers to pick up, seemed somewhat interesting. And upon reading a page or two of the beginning, mainly some awkward conversations between driver and hitcher, I thought, "well, this sounds like fun. Might as well go with a light read for a change". A few hours of reading later on that day, I couldn't have been more wrong. A light read it wasn't. What it did turn out to be, is one of the most disturbing, mesmerizing and hauntingly beautiful pieces of fiction I've ever had the pleasure of reading. It's quite unlike any story I've ever read, and I've read a lot, skipping from one genre to another. The writing is also weaved in such an eloquent style, thus complimenting this dark tale with its fine crafted depths and mysteries to new heights in storytelling. Highly recommended, to anyone seeking a dark, strange and complex read. Truly original too, and I don't get to say that often.

People who like romance novels might like this. But I don't, and I didn't. Except for the airy coos - that was the best part. The 200 pages in the middle describing all the ways/places to have sex in the Highlands I could do without.
