Pretty cute. I really enjoy when books end leaving us thinking about the same character doing something different - in this case, becoming a cat. Very cute!

I enjoyed it, but it definitely doesn't end in a way that is at all satisfying. The various sections of the book lead up to each crises as predicted (sort of) by Hari Seldon. But we do not get far enough along in the epic story to feel like there was much tying together of the events. It felt slightly random instead. I'm looking forward to finishing the Trilogy and hope that there is some closure at the very end!

As a professor of rhetoric, intercultural communication and gender communication as well as a mom, I had strong emotional and intellectual reactions to Amy Chua's "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother". I found myself physically recoiling from the book and yet looking for kernels of wisdom at the same time.

Still the best story I have ever read. Also the longest read I have endured due to having to re-read pages often to really get the story in full.

I've read this before, back in high school. I believe I read it as part of the summer reading before ninth grade. I adored it then, and so I'm re-reading it to see if I still feel the same way. And so far, I do. The book evokes a wonderful world, with humor and tragedy and brilliant characters. I'm reading it on my iPad using the Books app, and this is both a good thing and a terrible thing. The books app is OK, kind of clunky, and I freqnetly have trouble just turning a page. But the larger problem is the terrible state of the e-version of the book. Now, I downloaded this ebook for free from some random site, so I am not expecting much. But the errors and formatting glitches are woeful. I am thinking of buying the ebook from a legitimate source so I can feel sure that the problem is from the free (stolen) source and not an element of ebooks as a whole.

I thought I already wrote my review of this book. Hated it. The female lead was a strong woman, but completely in love with an abusive man, and loved him even though he was nothing but cruel to her. He didn't get tolerable until the last quarter of the book, which is way too long for me. Even though she spends a lot of time being historically accurate, and has wonderful side characters, I just couldn't stand the main 'hero'. Seems like a sad waste of talent when an author goes to all the trouble of creating an interesting story line, is a good writer, and does the historical research - only to have an abusive ass as the lead man. I won't be reading any more of her books.

This is the first science fiction novel that I recall reading, and forty years later I still remember it fondly. Kip gets a space suit (much like Charlie gets the golden ticket to the chocolate factory), and embarks on a wonderfil interstellar adventure. Heinlein, in his prime, was the best ever.

I did not enjoy Anne of Ingleside as much as I enjoyed the earlier books in the series. I still love Anne though, so I'm going to keep reading. In the beginning of this book, Anne did not seem like herself. She would pop in and out of scenes, but it was never really clear that she was actually doing anything. It was surprising to me that romantic Anne, who once wanted to change her own name to Cordelia, ended up naming her children Nan, Walter, and Bertha (among others who were named after people she loved). The children were the focus in this book, and there were some cute, fun stories about them. But they each seemed to have the same personality and each story seemed to center around a misunderstanding, many of them similar. It just didn't captivate me like Anne's other stories did, and I found myself skimming rather than hanging onto every word.
