Forbidden pleasures alone are loved immoderately; when lawful, they do not excite desire. - Marcus Fabius Quintillian Claire Fullerton is a reporter - respectable and dignified outside yet harboring secret sensual thoughts inside. following up a story, she finds herself held captive by the Demonic Guardians who have a reputation for violence. she stumbles upon Ty Williamson, an undercover cop, going through a sexual initiation and Claire is offered to him as a bonus. Ty is surprised to see Claire but if he needs to be accepted by the state's most feared biker gang, not blow his cover and save Claire, he needs to follow the gang's instructions to the letter. this book was an eye opener for me as i have only been recently exposed to erotic romance and i was not expecting to be drawn to the characters, their secrets and their motives. Copping To It is a woman's foray into a world where she tests her limits as she explores and gives in to her hedonistic side. at first, i thought it foolish that Claire would put herself in danger but as i read further i could see how this rush was something she craved all along. with the man of her dreams thrown in, the situation presented itself. all she had to do was grab the opportunity. even her fear for what could happen fed this rush. in a way i could say that i admire her for the courage she displayed and for being true to herself and to her wants/needs. though this novel contains very explicit language and graphic sexual situations, author Ava Myers has surprised me with a steamy story that is well-written and interesting. i have to admit that i felt the fear. i felt the heat and i felt the rush as well. Another good one by Long. I have to say that I cannot wait until Lyon/Olivia's book. Long writes such excellent heroes and heroines in her books. I haven't found one yet that I didn't like. They are confident and not afraid to say what they want. There isn't so much tortured angst going on. I really like these books.

A guilty pleasure. More like a romance novel than an Austen read, but if you love these characters, you can't help but enjoy this indulgence. Note: Poorly edited. Keep your red pens handy, my editor friends. Lots of typos.

Excellent - one of the best books I've read for ages. Bit weird, short, but very satisfying read.

I didn't really feel like I was enjoying it while I read it(in fact, I thought it was rather tedious), but after I finished I kept thinking about it and thinking about it and brooding about it to the point where I couldn't sleep. This makes me think that it was better than I thought.

Obviously his very early work. A lot of "one liner" very short stories. Some show the author he will grow into, though. They only get better after this.

This was a unique book but somewhat sleep-inducing. It takes place in Venezuela and Guyana and since I read it soon after I was in Costa Rica I could really envision the rain forests and other scenery. The characters I was not as enamored of. Abel, who is condescending and racist, just liked to chase after nubile native women. I developed more respect for him by the end because of his devotion to his true love, Rima. Rima, on the other hand was too mystical to ever develop any affection for. All in all, it was worth reading this book just to learn about another culture in another time.

I read this book after *White Teeth* --so it was a welcome respite! Shakespeare, it's not, but it's a fun read. I laughed out loud in sections! I liked the way Jamie, who is gay, is depicted as part of the whole dysfunctional ensemble--not as a stand-out. I know we are supposed to think of George as a sad sack and definitely dangerously, mentally ill, but I couldn't help but sympathize and root for the guy. The author did a wonderful job of showing us everyone's point of view. You might be maddened at times by a certain character's behavoir, but you understood where they were coming from. If you were to compare it to a popular movie, "Christmas Vacation" comes to mind... All-in-all, it's a lot of fun!
