Maybe it's not politically correct, but in the end it was hilarious, witty and very fast to read. Smart satire addressed to the French. If you have spent a great deal of time among the French (I know I did for a couple of years now), you' ll recognize so many things within this story that are hilariously true. I will probably check out the second book as well.

This book was really fast-paced and I enjoyed every minute of reading it! I was sort of suprised that Shara made decisions so fast regarding who she wanted to be with because in other stories love triangles take forever to get resolved. I see they all still have problems with the way things turned out but that makes the story that much more interesting. Some things in the story were really surprising especially when it came to Shara's past but it didn't take away from the story just made it different then what I'm used to reading. She didn't end up with who I would've chosen and they didn't interact much throughout the story, so it wasn't a complete shock. I liked how I was never able to tell what was going to happen next in the story so I'm not even going to bother guessing at what might happen in the next book.

i love love LOVE john waters. every word out of his mouth is trashy, elegant, and bizarre all at once. i especially loved all of the one-on-one interviews, and the chapter about where to see the best hairdos in baltimore.

This is one of those romance stories... I generally like them, and it had some good points, but it was kind of extra lush and overdone at places also. I skimmed parts of it for sure. I am going to read the others in this series; I liked the ghost and the cat. I generally like the comparative storylines as well, but I feel like they spent a lot of time having the characters have totally unbelievable flashbacks. Also, the villain in the second story was random and a giant surprise - not necessarily a bad thing, but I didn't understand the motivations behind her moves at all, so.

if 4 stars didn't mean really liked it, i'd go with that, but it partially, really turned me off, so i just can't. however, it is a super user-friendly guide to being greener. also, there's a good companion website: www.greenmatters.com. i'd like to give this book two separate ratings - 5 stars for the comprehensive, yet concise and well organized content. and, the book's physical form is nice. it has a place in my go-to drawer in the kitchen. but, i'd give it 1 star for being preachy, presumptuous, condescending, patronizing, annoying, etc. and, the title is totally a lie. (but, if we're going to save the planet, we've got to spread this lie (and the one about it not being expensive, too) far and wide.) ms. trask has done a good thing, and i appreciate it, so i feel bad for being harsh, but moralistic ("Our obligation to at least try to pay our own way in life, raise our children into healthy, productive and ethical members of society, and lighten our impact on the earth, among other things, is real.") attitudes and the government is always the only/best solutionism really perturb me.
