I started reading this book at 8pm and couldn't put it down untill I had finished it (at 3am). I actually cried at some parts although I'm not sure whether that was because it was really so sad or if I was sleep deprived. Anyone and everyone should read this book, especially if, like me, you have a soft spot for teenage fiction.

A vampire novel which explore race and gender, by one of the great "literary" sci-fi writers. The last of her novels, sadly-- she died shortly after this was published. Very interesting so far. I love books that don't read like every other book in the genre (hard to find in sci-fi and fantasy).
