Finally we get to the end of this incredible series. It sits beside His Dark Materials, HP, and Bartimaeus as the best children's fantasy series that I've ever read. I need to include the Chronicles of Prydain in there too. So I just finished it and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Maybe a little violent and bloody for the under 12 set, but awesome.

It is ruled a suicide but she wants to know why he would do such a thing just as he seemed to be getting better. Mary's request begins the unraveling of a great mystery!! Lots of twists and turns and an unexpected ending. I think there are going to be more of these books...I will definitely read them!!

read this series the summer after 5th grade, on a trip to australia. LOVED IT. they just republished it in paperback and i guess they're making a movie... i can't wait to see it! makes me want to have my mom send my old copies to me and do it all over again!
