Two things: I liked it but didn't like one specific thing in it. I liked that all the characters' reactions and quirks were believable. The hate on the ex-boyfriend parade? Check. The 'Move on. Oh, please move on? Check. But what had me holding back was her 'Woe, is me' schtick. More specifically, I was held back by how blinded she was to what she thought she wanted. That aside, Fairy Tale Fail reads a lot like those visuals in Batman and Robin fight scenes. Who here remembers those *WHOOSH* or *SMACK* visuals? FTF reminds me of those for some reason. The dialogue is fast paced; the writing in general was lightning quick. The story itself is simple. When Ellie is dumped by one she considers perfect, she has a chance to do things over. Along the way (with some a lot of glances back,) she rediscovers herself and her passions then kind of/sort of meets a new guy. And said guy? Well, get a load of this, "He always looked clean and he smelled great but his hair was a calculated mess." These characters felt possible to me. Her moving on (albeit reluctant and slow then stop start at some points) read real to me. Him being the subject of gossip, being called Rock Star'? I bought those things as well! 3/5

This book is about a baby pig born week. The girl takes care of the baby pig. One day the girl goes to school, and the pig ( now grown) stays in the barn. The big finds a spider called Charlotte. Then the spider does an extraordinary web. This is a classic book.

** spoiler alert ** Alright... If I said I cried a lot, that would be a hell of an understatement. From the first moment I fell in love with Scott. And I wasn't prepared for his death, even if I already knew it would happen from the blurb... Then I felt for Mike. Death of the loved one is something very difficult to deal with. And no matter who you are, it always screwed your life to the point you look at suicide as the only way the pain could stop. It shows the precious moments of time, when someone is on the edge of the decision to take his own life. And at the same time shows Mike's strength and will to live by hanging onto the closest person, in this case Paul. I think this book is absolutely amazingly written. I loved Scott. And then I loved Paul for his understanding. So 5 stars. :)

I love this series and this book was the perfect way to end it.. and Simone Elkeles' epilogues are the best (yeah they are cheesy but still :P) Only *small* problem I had was with Nikki, I didn't really connect/relate to her that much and I like Brittany and Kiara a LOT more than her, and I have to say I'm fifteen and not in a million years I would do the same stuff she did when she was fifteen, is she that stupid?? I thought Luis was suppose to be 'the smart one' out of all the brothers, but from this I thought hasn't he learnt from their mistakes? It's like each brother went through the same mistake and never learnt from it. My favourite scenes would have to be when all the brothers are together, the family dynamic and each relationship was really fun to read about, and there was a lot of really funny moments too. Though I prefer Alex and Brittany, Carlos and Kiara than Luis and Nikki, even though I like them as individual I think their love story wasn't as 'real' as the others. Maybe I'm wrong. Or maybe because I hate Nikki. Still a cute story though and that cover is STEAMY. WOAH. I gotta say I'm jealous of the girl. My blog: http://jana-thebookgoddess.blogspot.com/

Having recently read for the first time A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway, The Paris Wife (a novel about their years in Paris told by his first wife, Hadley) was a delightful companion piece. The first chapters were a little slow for me, but that's because I read more commercial fiction which usually maintains a quicker pace and less backstory. Even with the early slowness, I really enjoyed this book. It gave me a new way of looking at Ernest Hemingway and the writers of that era. It also helped me understand how other authors who spent time in Paris in the 20's weaved their views on life into their books--F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby especially. Also, Paula McLain did a deft job of making me believe I was reading an actual memoir of Hadley's, and her use of description, the motivations and goals of the characters were extremely believable. A great read!

I don't remember this book that well. I remember feeling physically ill while I read it, and feeling like I didn't have any money to buy salt and pepper to put in my potato soup. I remember my teacher saying, "So, there really is no crime without punishment." This seemed very true. In adding this to my list, I hope people will be impressed that I read it at all. Is that so wrong?

Book 2 of Jim Butcher's brilliant urban fantasy/crime noir series finds Harry hot on the trail of a murderer...who gets furry & furious every full moon. But apparently there's more than one lupine suspect in Chicago, including a nasty street gang and a group of overeager college kids. Harry continues his bumbling ways, helped (or to some extent hindered) by Lt. Murphy, Susan, Bob the Skull, and even the FBI gets in on the game.

This book was incredible to read. It has been one of the most accessible books I've read on trauma. it also talks about how disassociation affects everyone -- and also the little traumas people go through that cause disassociation. I read this at the right time.

I read "Private Lives" and was decidedly unimpressed. I pretty much actively loathed all the characters, finding them all selfish and annoying. Then I saw the play and my opinion did a 180. Done right, this is one of the funniest and most delightful farces I've ever seen. Sometimes you really can't just rely on the book.
