This was a fascinating look at seven different neurological cases that the author has observed/worked with. Sacks is a very accessible and interesting writer, although he is primarily a neurologist. This book deals with vision abnormalities, Tourette's syndrome, autism, and memory. I can't wait to read more from this author. My library doesn't carry The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat :( Guess I should support the author and purchase a copy!

Over all, I loved the plot and the backstabbing paranoi that the two main characters become embroiled with; they have such a horrible, abusive, sexual relationship that they are repellingly interesting. Most of the time Cain's hard-broiled prose is serviceable if unremarkable, but from time to time it breaks down into a near parody of what noir means. Still, it took me two trips to mid-town and back to finish it, so there's no harm it zipping through something this quick and easy.

Another absolutely superb book by Zusak. "The Book Thief" is one of my favorite books ever so I had a feeling I was going to like this book as well. I didn't, however think I was going to like it this much. Sometimes I think a writer's style just connects with the reader, and I believe this is the case with Zusak and me. I am not going to get sappy, but like one of the other reviewers said "he seems to write what I am thinking." I love how he devrelops the main characters, I love the supporting characters, I even loved the stinky dog. Great book!

This book is the only one that I know of that address Tourette's syndrome. Lethem must have done his research because he really gets into the main characters psyche and makes the reader feel the main characters frustration and urges. Of course, we can never possibly know what it feels like to have the urge to shout out something, but this book makes it easier to understand what it is like for a person with Tourette's. This book was slightly reminiscent of the Outsiders, except on a much grander, more law-breaking scale.
