I read this shortly after I read "Where the Sidewalk Ends." Both are books that no one should leave childhood without reading. And if you happen to have made it to adulthood without reading these books, go pick them up. They're fun.

I started out really liking this book, but about a quarter of the way through it began to bore me to tears. I think that it was Twain who said something like, "Don't tell your readers that the lady is singing. Bring her on stage and let them hear her." Well, this book was all telling. I want a GOOD Greek-mythilogical fantasy.

I really liked this book. It was a little slow in parts but I found it interesting and learned a lot about the rise of Adolf Hitler and the German people's response to his politics. Larson used letters and journal entries of, the American Ambassador to Germany at this volatile time. I though it would take me a while to read but it kept me interested and I read it fast!!

This is one of those books that swirls around in your brain long after you've read it, even after the plot details are lost from memory. There is something so potentially real about the dystopian future it paints that makes me think twice about many things in our current culture.

It took me a while to like the dark humor of Flannery O'Connor, but once I 'got it' her short stories became a favorite; they are all packed full of amazing imagery and hard lessons.

This is a hard book to write a review for. I like that is unique, I like that it gives you a better perspective of the inner workings of an autistic boys minds. The things I didn't like are harder to pin point, the author puts forth some philosophical viewpoints by manipulating Christopher's character a little too conveniently. Despite that, I think it is a good book and deserves to be read.

Too short. Not only in the "I-didn't-want-it-to-end" sense, but it just felt like it should have had more meat on its bones. First book I've read on the Kindle... maybe that's to blame? Also, read it as a follow up to Edgar Sawtelle, which was just my kind of long luxurious character study, so it may be a bad timing thing, too. Well written. Just wanted more from it.

This book was terrible. Disconnected and boring, and yeah also RIDICULOUS. I think to write something like this there has to be some sort of believability for young readers to identify with. This was probably the worst book I've picked up in a long time
