OK just finished a moment ago and I'm feeling extremely emotional....holy snitch. I'd forgotten how much I love #6. So many awesome parts: Felix Felicis, everything about Slughorn, teen relationship drama, house-elf PIs, DUMBLEDORE. I can't even handle myself right now. It's 2:18am and I think I might be staying up to start on #7. Seriously...I guess I forgot a lot about the last books because rereading these is just as intense as the first time.

This is a novella about a woman named -- guess -- who used Halloween as an opportunity to dress up and seduce a hunky co-worker at a bar. Pretty steamy, and I particularly liked an exchange fairly early on where he encourages her to unencumber herself from her unmentionables. In fact, erotica has a lot of books set during Halloween and costume parties. Not that I'm complaining, and it makes sense as an excuse to lower inhibitions, but just saying I've noticed.

I love the history in this book, I love the culture, but most of all, I love the characters. I am sad when I get to the end of this enormous book because I have to let them go. This book is full of poetry, misery, love, anguish, music, and politics. I've read this 1349 pg book 3 times so far. It's wonderful! Don't be afraid of it!

Presents Wilhemina Harper's 1918 version with new illustrations. I liked the illustrations, bright and soft, but they definitely aren't scary, as reviewers seem to remember from the old version. This story begs to be read or told aloud -- sort of a milder Little Red Riding Hood. Includes an "About the Story" note at the beginning.
