A cute Re-telling. Slightly frustrating at points, and gross at others. But I liked the way everything was off from the usual story. I also loved that she showed that Happily ever after doesn't come from not knowing people.

This was by far the best book I read in 2010 (and I've read a lot great books recently). I've had this book for years and don't quite understand why I waited so long to read it. Poitier is honest in a way that only a man who is looking at the possibility of death can be. He clears his conscious, addresses life, and explains the journey in a poetically simple fashion. He takes responsibility for what he is and says what so many things that people know but never say. If you were taking a trip and could only bring 1 book this would be it (I read he reads it himself in audio book).

a bloggy memoir/expose that's entertaining and uneven, best when bourdain is sincere about his affinity for food and worst when he lets his machismo run amok. (like, I GET IT, bourdain, you and your kitchen crew are BAAAAAAD AAAAASSSSSSS. and stop italicizing things so much for effect!)

The final installment of the Mortal Instrument Series was pure entertainment. The final battle of good vs. evil was exciting and the twists in the story kept it a page turner. The ending was satisfying and happy with no loose ends, just the way I like it!

A friend called this Assassin's Apprentice meets Kushiel's Legacy. Indeed it is, but it's their weird dysfunctional offspring. I didn't find the protagonist all that sympathetic; given the opportunity she's pretty relentless in using people as she's been used. It was okay for a different sort of fantasy read, but I don't think I'll be reading the sequel.
