Full review is at http://scorchingbookreviews.blogspot.com This book covered all the bases for me and I knew, as soon as we had the main characters getting hot under the collar within the first chapter, it was going to be amazingly hot! The ménage was mainly M/F/M, but it felt natural and I truly believed the reasoning behind the inclination of the men to share. Jack is a Dominant. Having taken care of Sam since they met in foster care, he has come to look at him as his responsibility. When Sam confesses his attraction to Abbie, Jack is more than a little wary. When he decides that Abbie is theirs for the taking, his take-charge personality comes out to play and the pursuit is relentless. I have to say I melted with her...the men are so sweet yet their attitudes are just so hot! Abbie is attracted to them from the start but assumes they are a gay couple. When that misunderstanding is cleared up, she makes sure that they know that she accepts their offer of becoming part of a cowboy sandwich, but that’s about it. With the negative way the town reacts to her presence, she knows that she can’t stay in Willow Forks and has no interest in getting her heart broken in her short stay. Little does she know that Jack is a man with a plan and his sole focus is getting Abbie to become a permanent of their lives. He takes care of her without ever stifling her, he treats her like a princess and the sex...wow! Sex pretty much happens from chapter three and everytime it's a no-holds barred smut fest. There is mild BDSM, spanking, anal sex, oral sex...you name it these three do it. Jack is the Dominant in the ménage, as Sam and Abbie are both submissive. There is a brief M/M/F incident, but overall its Jack choreographing a M/F/M ménage. The scene when all three of them go into the playroom made me go a little fluttery...I’ve never read a BDSM scene with two submissive's and a Dominant but it’s definitely something I’ll look out for again!

Quick read. Interesting look at past Japanese culture as well as interpersonal relationships.

I was really interested to find out how Burton managed to make it to Medina and Mecca but was left disappointed when the book ended right when he set sight of Medina. There was no description of the place which is what I was expecting. Also, some of his descriptions are a little lengthy and the constant flipping to the endnotes did bother me a little. The book should have been epic given the premise but it fell short to me unfortunately.

Sibs are People, too One of Picoult's best. She set aside her tendency to hurry through a book, failing to complete characters as though she has a word quota and doesn't want to use too many in one place, and did a much more thorough job with this one. You hate and love almost everyone before it's over. The younger sister is portrayed as a bit too sophiscated and understanding for an adolescent that has been through what she has, and pity the poor child whose mother is as single-minded as this one, but, overall, a very good effort about a topic that won't go away soon.

They say to not judge a book by its cover, but they should also add to not judge it by its title either. This book follows the trend of not following its title. I need to accept the fact that the title is meant to sell and then the subtitle corrects any misleading done by the title. Having said that, both parts were interesting. The 5% about the origin of Satan and the 95% of how Christians demonized Jews, Pagans, and heretics. The latter was just less interesting to me.

I know it took me forever to finish this book but that was me, not the book. I have to say I didn't always like Antonia, but this book was so full of interesting rich characters that there was always something good going on.

Stephen King recommended author and book. King said: "You men out there who think Ms. Picoult is a chick thing need to get with the program. Her books are an everyone thing, and the current offering — about a little girl whose bones are so brittle that they break almost at a puff of wind — is her best since My Sister's Keeper. It's a legal/medical thriller, but at bottom it's a story about the American heart of darkness: a small-town marriage under stress. Picoult writes with unassuming brilliance and never descends into soap opera."
