Christopher Moore says he played with the idea of a book about a fool for a long time before he decided to make his main protaganist Lear's fool. While I love Shakespeare's comedies, advanced high school english burnt me out after just a few of the tradgedies. I never got to King Lear, so as to wether it follows the story, according to the questions i asked my brother, I would hazard a yes. Moore, in his afterword tells us he pulled lines from many of Shakespeare's works. I really liked the way he warned the reader at the begining of the book. If you are easily offended, you will be offended. The humour is very baudy and I don't think I have seen the word bollucks in print more times in any other work. It is very evident that Christopher Moore loves language and playing with language. Very funnny. Very Naughty.

Haunting. I really wish this was longer. I feel like much more could have been said. But I really enjoyed how the author followed six people throughout the tragic ordeal. Such a terrible and shameful event in history. P.S. Read this during AP Literature. Not "for" AP Lit. During. :)

It was a nice book. I only realized it was based off an anime series until I looked it up and found it on YouTube. Overall, it was a read that I enjoyed if it weren't for school getting in the way of reading it.

My only complaint with Simmons is his insane attention to detail. A cornfield can be described in a paragraph. Even city slickers will get a mental picture. Three pages, dear author, is overkill.

This is one of my ALL TIME favorite books from childhood--its about a princess who lives with a dragon and doesn't deem it necessary to be "rescued" by a prince. Such a good story and really provides a great female role model for young girls. I loved the entire series--it does not underestimate the reader's intelligence, is witty & funny, and has a really intriguing plot. I wish there were more of these types of books for adults.
