My kids (age 4 and 7) and I listened to this on the commute to and from my daughter’s school. They seemed to enjoy them, and I did too – they take me back to the day of exchanging scary camp fire stories with friends. It’s a multicultural collection, but not just for the sake of being multicultural. It’s an eclectic selection of notable folktales - not so much scary as creepy - from around the world. The reader could have been more interesting, but he’s not bad. I agree with my daughter that the introduction was boring, and we should have skipped straight to the tales. They are indeed predictable, as are scary stories in general. They may be a little too scary for many children under 8, though they were in the children’s section of my library, and my children liked them, provided we did not listen to them at night.

Not a hard read, but still thought provoking and funny. Michael Moore writes the way he talks but with a passion that transcends the melodramatic prose. Main things I took away from this book: Democrats and Republicans are different sides of the same coin. But apparently, Democrats are a lil more hypocritical. They smile while they stab the American people in the back while the Republicans just stab us.

I used to see Sandman comics around and I'd immediately become fixated on the covers. They were always so beautiful. Then I'd flip open the comic and discover that the inside looked nothing like the outside and I would put it right back down, never going any further. I can't even tell you how many times that happened. Later, as I became a little more aware of how comics worked (insides never look like outsides) and as I read other stuff by Neil Gaiman, I'd think about reading the Sandman comics but rounding them up seemed impossible and tedious. The combination of the library and the release of the Absolute Sandman volumes really solved my problems. I flew through all four volumes and loved every minute of it. The later issues especially have amazing artwork and the story is completely compelling. I recommend the books highly but be warned- they are HUGE and heavy. Not to be lugged around.

After reading the first book in this series, I could not wait to get my hands on the second one. With the way this one ended, I can not wait to read the third book. This series is different and I like it. The whole superhero twist always makes me laugh. Like what if Superman sat around reading a comic book about himself, what would he think and would he like how he was drawn? It's a different type of sci-fi and I like it.

Persian. (I tried the english version but I couln't understand the negros so I gave up) You wanna know what's my idea about this book? Just ask my dad! ;) He always says Rhett is my hero and often asks me what Rhett Butler thinks about this? :)) In fact he is right. Rhett is one of my most favorite characters and I realy love him and sometimes I do say his opinion about things. I don't know why, although I don't like people so rebel as him, there is something inchanting abot this character which is always interesting to me. Every time I read this book, I realy envy the author cause this book is so complete and well structured that you can add o detele anything of it. And every time I just say please please, this time, end it happily!

** spoiler alert ** In the third and final book of Pullman's trilogy, the magnitude of Will & Lyra's task is finally revealed in its universe-shattering glory. I felt that this book started out somewhat more slowly than the other two, but the last 50 pages were so heartbreaking, both for the characters and due to the fact that this wonderful saga was coming to an end. Upon finishing, I did something that I have very rarely done previously. I began reading the first book again that same night, not wanting it to end.

Extremely thick and long book. It is filled with chapters from other books dealing with missions. The reading goes by fast because there are so many chapters from other books. You dont havent read the book from chapter 1. You can start anyway. Very insightful and challenging. The ideas about Bible, missions, culture and people are great. And many inspiring stories of people serving God in missions.
