This book would get a solid 3.5 stars from me. While I never really sympathized with any of the characters, the story kept me entertained. The ending wasn't much of a surprise but still disturbing.

I tried, but I just can't complete this book. I have to say that it started out good, but it got annoying. It's. So. Trite. I'm sorry, Jess. Thanks for letting me borrow it, but it's just not for me. I got really annoyed at the conversation in this book. At first I thought it would have been better done in 3rd person so that Mercy didn't have to tell everyone's history through conversation. But then I realized that it wouldn't have helped because every time Mercy opened her mouth, it felt like the triteness of high school relationships. Who hates who now? Who's friends? What's our history together? Will the vampires dare eat the werewolves when they know that werewolves are more powerful? My cookie's bigger than your cookie, etc. I usually care about the relationship aspect between my characters, but this was just ridiculous because everyone was constantly double-checking relationship status like it was a Sims game. Goodbye, Book. Better luck with someone else because apparently lots of people give you 4 or 5 stars.

I think the best thing that I can say about The Time Traveller’s Wife is that I stayed up until 4 in the morning on a Wednesday to finish it. I could not stop reading this book. And there’s a librarian in it, and he’s cool. And there’s time travel, as you might possibly have guessed. Yeah, it’s a pretty good one.

I enjoy reading these "cat who" books because they are usually quick reads with a pretty good story. I love all the characters and it's fun to re-visit them and see what's happening. This one was almost too easy to figure out who the bad guy was, but still a fun book to read.

I started this book after a relative, in jail for the second consecutive time, mentioned they had read it. I'm remarkably impressed with its' truthfulness. I'm better for having read it, and hope to be of service to my relative somehow because of it.

Joanna Trollope writes superior chick lit; one wonders if she would find that a compliment or an insult. :-) This one didn't grab me right away, but by the middle I was thinking about the characters when I wasn't reading the book, which is always good, and it had a satisfying ending, which is totally necessary for this reader. Not quite a full 4 stars, but more than 3.5.

i will continue to read 'the dark is rising' for the rest of my life. i love it. LOVE. that said, i think the series is a bit of a mixed bag. i'm not crazy about over sea under stone or greewitch. she flits between two sets of characters (although she ultimately brings them together in the last couple of books), and i vastly prefer the will stanton/old ones stories. 'the grey king' is also fantastic, as is 'silver on the tree'
