Well here is a couple funny facts about the book. You knw in the first one Boys that Bite Rayne was mad at her twin sister Sunny for getting bitten by Magnus. All her life Rayne wanted to become a vampire and now to top that all off she is now the new Vampire Slayer. isnt that weird? I mean she just cant get a break and her first mission is to save the blood coven from a big bad vamp working an illegal blood bar. She starts working with this hottie vamp and soon find herself falling for him just like Sunny did. I wont say his name for the fact that you have to read the book i dont want to spoil all of it for you. well anyways nearing the end Rayne gets infected with a blood born virus and the hottie vamp has an idea up his sleeve..itll spoil if i tell! But seriously great read by Mari Mancusi

I will admit this--I read this book as it was so popular and it appeared to be the thing to do. I did get through it but I found that I couldn't stop reading this book for long or I would forget the names of the people and who they were. I was constantly re-reading sections. At the end I was neither enlightend nor interested in reading Hosseini's next book, A Thousand Splendid Suns. I believe that as I have aged my tastes in reading are eclectic but I mainly like to read to enjoy. Reading this book felt more like a college assigned book to read and write a term paper.

I listened to this as opposed to read it so I think that influenced how I felt about it. Overall I liked it a lot. It was an amazingly complex story with lots of juicy details and bold characters. There were definitely parts where I was so unsettled I almost shut it off, but it was so well done. I'm pretty sure my mouth hung open with surprise or disgust a few times while I listened. I'm rather excited for the movie to come out and I think that also swayed my opinion. Great read, I'm sure it would be faster to just pick up the book instead of turn the headphones on.

I got about half way through this book and still didn't feel connected to this story or the characters. I didn't dislike the book; it just wasn't grabbing me either. It has gotten good reviews, so I might go back and try it again sometime.

Told entirely in letter form between various characters, with one journal entry at the end, this book takes place just after World War II and tells the story of the island residents during the German occupation. It has difficult moments as the characters retell their experiences during the war, but the overall feel is sweet, funny, and emotional. Really enjoyable.
