Amber Timmerman mintyfreshdesign — After dozens of friends had told me Siddharta was undoubtedly the most boring book they'd ever read, I was almost convinced to just skip it, but curiosity got the better of me, so I started what I thought would be, as I said, the most boring book in the history of books. It turned out, I need boring books once in a while. Actually, I completely missed the boring side of it, I was so engrossed in the reading. I didn't find the plot to be particularly illuminating or anything, but I found it very enjoyable and my new-found love for philosophy appreciated the more spiritualistic parts a lot. I must say, it left me speechless once or twice, and I couldn't bring myself to completely agree with Siddharta's vision of the world, but it was all in all a satisfying read. I really hope I'll get to read it in its original language one day.
