Lui Yi luiyiling — This book is frustrating because it has such enormous potential, and that sometimes shines through in the most tantalising ways. Unfortunately, all the best bits were from Jane Eyre and that didn't make up nearly enough of the runtime. The plot meandered and took far too long to begin making sense. The worst of it is that Thursday Next comes off annoying and self-righteous rather than spunky and take-no-crap; I found I wasn't on her side far too many times. I'm going to keep reading the series in hopes that these issues get ironed out and the overall structure improves, because I love the idea of travelling through books.

On of his frfiends, a physician falls for his daughter who is only 15 and they fall in love. She has a baby and they eventually are able to link up years later when her son, who was taken from her at birth and put up for adoption comes tolive with them after they were married. Excellent writing in the second person.

Mac Smeets creativeworld_of_n_ — I wanted to like this book - I really did. Perhaps I was looking forward to it too much, and the anticipation did not live up to the reality. Perhaps it was because this was my first read in the Argeneau vampire series. Regardless, I was let down by this book. The story follows Thomas and Inez as they search for Thomas's aunt Margarite, an immortal who has gone missing. In the first half of the novel, when Thomas and Inez meet and get to know each other, the writing is good and the storyline tight. Once they return to England, however, things get messy. Not just with the plot or the writing or the absurdity that every couple from the previous novels would all cram up in a townhouse to tie up loose ends...everyone, and I mean everyone, was sucking on blood bags. Pop it on your fangs and suck a bag of blood. Page after page of this type of feeding got too much for me. Give me a normal, throat ripping vampire, not these weak-ass Canadian vamps!
