Monaliza Rocha monalizarocha — Ignore the "Run the World" part of the title - the important part is "Why Their Differences Matter". Prothero makes an important argument: that all the religions of the world are not, in fact, the same, and that if we're serious about coexisting, we should really learn who we're coexisting with. I didn't know much at all about some of the religions discussed in this book, so I also learned a fair bit about them specifically.

Guido Vargas _agrav07 — Running with Scissors is a bittersweet memoir. Burroughs is uncontrollably thrown into the Sedaris-style memoir pile being created in literature, and that comparison is not fair to Sedaris, whose books are much more often laugh out loud funny and heartbreaking simultaneously. Burroughs has written an enjoyable book, however, and despite the fact that you sort of end up not liking his decisions, you understand why he does what he does.

Creative Ka creative_ka — A little technically challenging to read for a non-horse person such as myself but Hillenbrand does a great job in explaining the lingo of the world of horse racing and training. A lot more detail than the Hollywood movie provided, this is a much fuller and richer depiction of the three men whose lives were entwinned by the horse known as Seabiscuit. An enjoyable summer read.

Glass Plus _lass_lus — I really enjoyed this, although I had reservations at the beginning. It was funny, ironic and poignant! Our modern world is weird and difficult to maneuver and most people seem to give up on trying. We must persevere!
