Charitra Kocheri charitrakocheri — I originally read this book because I had read some of Marian Keyes' other books that were fun and light. This book is deeper and has a more serious underlying theme that can relate to almost anyone. I loved this book and was able to easily make connections from it to my own life.

Jared Duesterhaus duesterhausjared — Whereas Ngaio Marsh always has a love interest in her books, it looks like this is a little different, where there's a little sex in this book. A different approach. More modern and masculine. It was ok. There were enough red herrings, travel, fighting, and sex to keep it moving, but I wasn't overly impressed. I have a couple more books by this author to read, and I'll get to them one of these days, but it didn't leave me frantically looking for the next one.

Silvia Tueros-cossio silviatc — I finally finished the book. For the last 1/3 I would read until the point when I felt like crying, then stop for a day or two. It's engrossing and depressing and lovely. Henry and Clare are part of my life now.

André Da andredamatta — Overall, Fault Line was a well-written thriller. The characters had depth, but I didn't personally care for their personalities--they were all rather self-centered and self-righteous for most of the book. The world was fully realized and made me feel like I was there and this could really happen. In my opinion, raising awareness about the potential dangers we face and questions about the morality of certain secret operations was one of the strengths of this book. It really made me think. However, at the beginning of the book, one of the characters tended to just sit and think about things in great detail (at least, in more detail than was necessary right then) which slowed the pace. The book almost lost me twice because of these slow spots, but the pace and details soon balanced out so the tension was maintained. The novel had a lot of cussing, cursing, and swearing; had characters thinking of sex fantasies and on masturbating; and had several sex scenes, one of them explicit. I could have done without all that. As I said, though, overall the novel was well-written and suspenseful.
