A shame the overall tone is anti-men, but then the truism is that all happy families are the same, but each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way (Tolstoy, Anna Karenina). My favourite poem here? The Shakespeare sonnet page 30. But I'm struck by The Devil's Wife pp 42-46 (Myra Hindley, I believe). And there are many good lines and phrases. More a book to dip into again and again than to read at a sitting.

Arief Faldiansyah arief_faldf17a — J.K. Rowling's third book in the Harry Potter series is a mysteriously thrilling book. it captavates your mind with its story line. In the story, it seemed like Serious Black has escaped Azkaban, a high level jail for criminals, guarded by the deadly dementors. Harry meanwhile continues to get burning feelings in his scar. this could only mean one thing, that Voldemore was near. this is when your imagination comes into play as you try to guess what will happen next. i would say that this book was just as good as book 2 (Chamber of Secrets) because they both share similar qualities, such as how Harry, Ron and Hermione, face danger to save Hogwarts, or in this case Serious Black. overall i would give it 4/5 stars. (Also, it was better than the movie)

Carter Kostler definebottle — I love Hemingway, I do, but I just cannot empathesize with his characters or emotionally connect on any level. I understand the story, I find all accounts of war mesmorizing and heroic, but I frankly cannot be moved by this love story or the tragedy of war. I would recommend "A Moveable Feast" which is far more moving, poignant, and personal.

荣 王 beckywr — An acidic roman à clef about a Cambridge art historian who, despite tepid ideological convictions, is recruited to spy for Moscow. Banville's novel is perfect for that particular variety of Anglophile fascinated by the trappings of the era between the Armistice and the evacuation of Dunkirk--tweedy propriety, Bletchly Park, public school homosexuality, and, of course, treason. Banville does it perfectly.
